The Favourites Long Haul: 35/1 accumulator for the week ahead

Sports Journalist at FST, Gareth qualified as a journalist after graduating from university and spent over a decade as a freelance broadcast journalist, commentator and tipster before joining FST. Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.

There are plenty of games to come in the week ahead with a full round of Premier League games spread across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and I’ve put together this 35/1 accumulator taking us right the way through to next Sunday.

I’ve focused on odds-on favourites for this week’s edition of the Long Haul – including three selections from the midweek Premier League action.

The Favourites Long Haul Accumulator Tip

Monday
Bordeaux to beat Grenoble at 8/11

Monday is a fairly quiet day but there are a few fixtures to consider and in France’s Ligue 2 promotion hopefuls Bordeaux entertain mid-table Grenoble.

Bordeaux have lost just one of their last eight games and have three wins in their last four at home, drawing the other. Les Girondins should be too strong for a Grenoble side who have four defeats in their last five away from home.

Tuesday
Aston Villa to beat Fulham at 3/4

Aston Villa saw a five game run ended at Brentford on Saturday as they played out a 1-1 draw but they can get back to winning ways in front of their own fans.

Villa have won their last four at Villa Park and they can make it five in a row against a Fulham side who have three defeats in their last four away from home.

Wednesday
Manchester City to beat Arsenal at 11/20

The standout game in this latest round of Premier League fixtures is the clash between title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, and I’m backing the hosts to claim the spoils and the advantage in the title fight.

City have been flying with 11 wins in their last 12 games and they are unbeaten in 17 across all competitions. The pressure looks like it is getting to Arsenal as they head into the game after three straight draws, and they may well fall short in Manchester.

Thursday
Newcastle to beat Everton at 4/5

Newcastle are closing in on a top four finish and they can boost their chances of Champions League football with a win at relegation-threatened Everton.

Newcastle responded to a 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa by thrashing key rivals Spurs 6-1 on Sunday. Everton are winless in five and went down 3-1 to Fulham in their last home game, and they are unlikely to get anything from this game against the in-form Magpies on Thursday.

Friday
Borussia Dortmund to beat Bochum at 4/7

Borussia Dortmund lead the way in the Bundesliga with a one-point advantage over Bayern Munich and they are unlikely to slip up at Bochum on Friday.

BVB’s away form is a concern but they have had a few tough road games recently and this trip to struggling Bochum looks like an excellent opportunity to end a five-game winless run away from home. Bochum have five defeats in their last six at Vonovia Ruhrstadion, and Dortmund won at this venue in the DfB Pokal in February.

Saturday
Coventry to beat Birmingham at 8/15

Coventry are involved in an intense battle for a play-off spot in the Championship and they face a Birmingham side with nothing other than pride to play for on Saturday.

Coventry are unbeaten in five and have won two of their last three games, while Birmingham look to be coasting towards the end of the season as they went down 1-0 at home to struggling Blackpool on Saturday.

Sunday
Sassuolo to beat Empoli at 3/4

I’ve looked to Serie A for the final game of this edition of the Long Haul accumulator and Sassuolo can overcome Empoli.

Sassuolo have been excellent at home of late with four wins in their last six, losing only to champions-elect Napoli during that run. Empoli have failed to score in their last three games and are winless in six away from home (D2, L4), and they will struggle to get a result against the Neroverdi.
