Winning Wednesday for FST as 22/1 acca lands

Sports Journalist at FST, Gareth qualified as a journalist after graduating from university and spent over a decade as a freelance broadcast journalist, commentator and tipster before joining FST. Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.

This is a fairly quiet midweek in the world of football with no Champions League action but here at FST we’ve still managed to pick out a few winners and on Wednesday a 22/1 four-fold accumulator came in.

We also enjoyed further wins with a few singles successes, read on to see what we backed and to find out how to follow our tips.

22/1 Accumulator Lands

Our Tips:

  • Hearts to win vs Aberdeen
  • Real Sociedad to win at Mallorca
  • Juventus to win at Fiorentina
  • Both teams to score – Sporting Lisbon vs Porto

Results:

  • Hearts 2-0 Aberdeen
  • Mallorca 0-2 Real Sociedad
  • Fiorentina 0-1 Juventus
  • Sporting Lisbon 1-2 Porto

We focused on the Scottish Premiership, La Liga, Coppa Italia and Taca de Portugal for our fourfold accumulator and the first game to kick off was Hearts’ home clash against Aberdeen.

The Edinburgh club opened the scoring late on in the first half at Tynecastle and doubled their lead on the hour mark. The Dons missed a penalty with 20 minutes to play but they never looked like getting back into the game.

It was a similar story in Spain as Sociedad scored either side of the break to secure a comfortable win at Mallorca, but the other two legs looked in doubt.

Sometimes you need a bit of luck to win at accumulator and we were fortunate that Juventus managed to sneak a win at Fiorentina. Juve’s winner came courtesy of an own goal in injury time after the visitors had survived a La Viola onslaught for most of the match and at this point the game in Portugal was goalless.

The cup game between heavyweights Sporting and Porto had reached half-time 0-0 when the other three games had finished, but the hosts opened the scoring soon after the restart in Lisbon and Porto levelled matters from the spot with 30 minutes remaining to ensure our 22/1 bet came in.

We may have enjoyed a slice of luck in that success, but fortune wasn’t in our favour elsewhere. One more Liverpool goal in their 2-1 win over Norwich would have seen a 15/1 FA Cup treble land and we were a Bolivar goal away from an 18/1 overnight accumulator win in the Copa Libertadores.

Singles Provide Further Success

We enjoyed an excellent run with our Bet Of The Day at the end of last month and we picked out a 7/5 winner on Wednesday thanks to Southampton’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over West Ham.

Our NBA tipsters enjoyed a sensational February and they got off the mark for March with a 10/11 best bet success thanks to New Orleans Pelicans comfortably beating a -5.5 handicap in the Point Spread with their 125-95 blowout win over Sacramento Kings.
