France to win Euro 2024 at 7/2

France and England are joint-favourites for Euro 2024 and Les Bleus look the best value option given the immense quality of their squad and their recent successes.

Didier Deschamps’ side have reached the final in three of the last four major tournaments and were a whisker away from successfully defending the World Cup last winter. With arguably the best squad in world football, filled with players who have experience at the sharp end of major international tournaments and led by a manager with the same winning mentality, France look the team to beat this summer.

Steve Palmer

Scottie Scheffler to win the Masters at 9/1

Scottie Scheffler will have been thrilled with his victory in the Hero World Challenge at the start of last month and it bodes well for his chances of winning the Masters in April.

Work with a new putting coach (Phil Kenyon) on his stroke has resulted in immediate improvement. With some confidence returning on the greens, Scheffler could prove the man to beat at Augusta.

Scheffler boasts Masters form figures of 19-18-1-10, romping to Masters glory in 2022, and a half-decent week of putting this time should put him bang in contention again at the Cathedral of Pines.

Liam Flin

Ons Jabeur to win Wimbledon at 10/1

While it will likely be a straight shootout between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz for the men’s title at Wimbledon this year, the women’s tournament looks more competitive.

The unseeded Marketa Vondrousova came out on top in 2023 but it could be beaten finalist Ons Jabeur who goes the distance in the 2024.

The Tunisian ace has reached the Wimbledon final two years running and is at her best on grass, so could make it third time lucky at the All England Club, having beaten the likes of Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka in the Grand Slam last year.

Adam Scriven

Max Verstappen to win F1 World Drivers’ Championship at 1/4

The odds for Max Verstappen claiming a fourth consecutive Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship are about as exciting as the prospect of seeing the Dutch dynamo saunter unchallenged through a 24-race season.

Even for a life-long F1 fanatic that’s not particularly enticing, but if you are looking for a banker for a 2024 sporting acca you will struggle to do better than the Red Bull superstar.

Following the most dominant season the sport has ever seen, and with no rule changes or driver moves during the off-season, it’s hard to see how anyone will unseat Verstappen this season.

Graham Woods

Ireland to win the Six Nations at 6/4

The Six Nations is priced up as another shootout between France and Ireland, and although Les Bleus are narrow favourites as they take on their rivals at home this year, they look worth swerving.

The showdown between the last two Grand Slam winners comes on the opening night but France have often been slow into their stride while the Irish players are often fresher and better prepared, in part down to their less demanding domestic schedule.

France are also playing all their matches outside Paris this year due to Olympic preparations, and will still be without key playmaker Romain Ntamack.

England, Scotland and Wales still look a step behind in terms of consistency and selection.

James Milton

South Africa to win the T20 World Cup at 7/1

There was more semi-final woe for South Africa at the 2023 Cricket World Cup but they played some terrific cricket, winning seven of their nine league matches, and look serious contenders for June’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.

The Proteas narrowly missed out on the T20 World Cup semis in 2021, despite winning four of their five games, and they beat India at the 2022 tournament, where a costly no-result against Zimbabwe ruined their chances of making the last four.

South Africa have a top-class T20 bowling attack and their power-packed batting unit hit a record 99 sixes in last year’s 50-over World Cup.

Henry Hardwicke

Ding Junhui to win the World Snooker Championship at 14/1

Ronnie O’Sullivan will have a strong chance of lifting a record eighth World Championship in April, but the Rocket’s price is unlikely to contract too much between now and then, leaving Ding Junhui could a solid value alternative.

The Chinese sensation is a former Crucible runner-up, a three-time semi-finalist and the 36-year-old has been resurgent this season. Ding made the final of the UK Championship, only losing 10-7 to an outstanding O’Sullivan, and a rise to number 11 in the rankings should make the Sheffield draw a little kinder.
