Football Betting Tips
Nations League Early Double Tip
Georgia are ranked 32 places higher than Armenia and have star power in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia that Armenia don’t have. They should outclass Armenia here and the visitors can win with room to spare.
Turkey have won four of their last six home games and kept clean sheets in three of them. Hungary have failed to score in two of their last three Nations League away games and lost them both so a home win to nil has a chance.
Nations League Mega Accumulator Tip
France won four of their six group matches in this season’s Nations League and with the attacking quality of Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise among others, they can win with room to spare.
Seven of the last eight meetings between these two nations have finished with both teams scoring, while Luciano Spalletti’s Italy side haven’t lived up to the nation’s defensive reputation. They’ve kept one clean sheet in 10, with BTTS landing in five of their last six.
Netherlands have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home Nations League games while Spain have scored at least two goals in their last two away Nations League matches. La Roja have consistently produced goals under Luis de La Fuente, scoring at least two in 13 of their last 19 games in all competitions.
Belgium are beginning anew under Rudi Garcia with Thibaut Courtois back in the fold and can get a win against a Ukraine team that have not beaten a top-class nation since 2020 (Spain). Serhiy Rebrov’s side have lost to the likes of Czechia and Albania recently and Belgium were the better side when these met at Euro 2024 last summer. Belgium didn’t keep a clean sheet in any of their six League A matches, so Ukraine can at least get on the scoresheet.
Goal Drought Treble Tip
While defeats have been sparse during the Iliev era, so have goals. The Lions have netted just six goals in his ten matches in charge, while the Irish have scored just three goals across their last seven games and goals could be in short supply here.
Denmark’s six UEFA Nations League group games produced just 12 goals and the first leg of their quarter-final clash with Portugal could also be low-scoring. Neither of these sides have looked particularly devastating going forwards recently and under 2.5 goals is a good bet at Parken.
Both teams look evenly matched in this, and can be tough to break down against similarly matched teams. This should be low scoring.
Nations League Accumulator Tip
Austria have won their last two games against Serbia, including a 2-1 friendly win at home just before last summer’s Euros. They beat Kazakhstan 4-0 and Norway 5-1 in recent home Nations League matches and can overcome a Serbia team without several top defenders because of injury and suspensions.
Greece were unfortunate not to gain automatic promotion in the Nations League and they can get the better of Scotland after six victories in their last seven matches.
Netherlands have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home Nations League games while Spain have scored at least two goals in their last two away Nations League matches. La Roja have consistently produced goals under Luis de La Fuente. Spain’s attacking quality outweighs that of the hosts, which should see them to a win.
Bet Of The Day Tip
Austria have won their last two games against Serbia, including a 2-1 friendly win at home just before last summer’s Euros. They beat Kazakhstan 4-0 and Norway 5-1 in recent home Nations League matches and can overcome a Serbia team without several top defenders because of injury and suspensions.
Both Teams To Score Double Tip
Seven of the last eight meetings between these two nations have finished with both teams scoring, while Luciano Spalletti’s Italy side haven’t lived up to the nation’s defensive reputation. They’ve kept one clean sheet in 10, with BTTS landing in five of their last six.
Both teams have scored in six of Slovakia’s last nine games and they have scored in all of those. Slovenia have scored in five of their last six games and have conceded in four of those, while there have been goals at both ends in each of the last two meetings between these sides.
Both Teams To Score & Win Treble Tip
Austria have won their last two games against Serbia, including a 2-1 friendly win at home just before last summer’s Euros. They beat Kazakhstan 4-0 and Norway 5-1 in recent home Nations League matches and can overcome a Serbia team without several top defenders because of injury and suspensions. Austria have scored multiple goals in six of their last seven home games, but kept only one clean sheet in that run.
Spain’s attacking quality outweighs that of the hosts, which should see them to a victory. The hosts are never easy to beat on home soil, so will not go down without a fight. They look capable of scoring too, having hit 11 in three Nations League home games in the group stage.
Nations League Scorers Treble Tip
Kylian Mbappe hasn’t scored for France since the Euros, having drawn blanks against Italy and Belgium back in September, but he is his country’s most likely scorer here. Mbappe hit three goals in his final three games for Los Blancos before linking up with Les Bleus and he can bring that form into the international arena.
Leroy Sane scored for Germany during the last international break in November and he scored Bayern’s only goal against Union Berlin at the weekend. With Gnaby, Wirtz and Havertz out, Sane is likely to lead the line.
Benjamin Sesko struck for Slovenia against Norway in the last batch of Nations League games and can make his mark in Slovakia on Thursday. Sesko has 10 goals in 25 Bundesliga games for RB Leipzig this season and has his five goals in six Nations League games for his country.
Nations League Goals Galore Treble Tip
France have plenty of attacking quality with the likes of of Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise. Three of France’s last four matches have produced over 2.5 goals and these sides should be able to combine for at least three in total.
Netherlands have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home Nations League games while Spain have scored at least two goals in their last two away Nations League matches. La Roja have consistently produced goals under Luis de La Fuente, scoring at least two in 13 of their last 19 games in all competitions. The Netherlands can add to the total as well as they hit 11 goals in three Nations League home games in the group stage.
Ukraine have shipped multiple goals in recent clashes with mid-ranking European opponents like Albania and Czechia and Belgium didn’t keep a clean sheet in any of their six League A matches. With both defences looking suspect but both teams possessing some decent attacking options, take a chance on over 2.5 goals.
Correct Score Double Tip
France won four of their six group matches in this season’s Nations League and with the attacking quality of Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise among others, they can win a high-scoring clash with ageing Croatia in the quarter-finals. With Les Bleus’ attacking talent, take a chance on a 3-0 win for the visitors.
Portugal have won four of their last six assignments and can edge out Denmark, who are winless in four and have failed to score in two of those games. A low-scoring affair is expected so side with a 1-0 win for the visitors.
Overnight Accumulator Tip
Paraguay have rattled off three consecutive home wins, while Chile have failed to score in their last three trips after a goal-shy showing at the Copa America.
The USA have won their last four, while they host a Panama side who lost 6-1 to Chile last time out. The visitors have scored in each of their last four, so take them to net in a defeat.
Colombia have lost three of their last four matches and they’re likely to fall at a strong Brazil side who have won two of their three home games in qualifying.
Four of the last five meetings between these two have seen both teams score. They’ve each impressed in recent internationals, so back the pair to find the net and continue some fine form.
Overnight Best Bet Tip
Paraguay have rattled off three consecutive home wins, while Chile have failed to score in their last three trips after a goal-shy showing at the Copa America.
Ahead of the Curve Accumulator Tip
I expect Austria to obtain a first-leg lead at home to Serbia as they have grown into the Nations League this season after a slow start. Impressive wins at the Euros over Poland and the Netherlands were encouraging and, having beaten the Serbians in a friendly before that tournament, they can see off a team who have won just one of their last nine games.
I fancy Portugal at odds-against to win the first leg of their quarter-final away to Denmark. Portugal were unbeaten in Group A1 and, given their hugely talented pool of players, they have every chance of going all the way. Denmark scraped second place in Group A4 but I would expect them to fall short against a technically superior side.
Greece put in an excellent shift to match England’s points tally in League B Group 2 and they should be backed to get a first-leg win over Scotland, who have only won two of their last eight away matches. The hosts have beaten Republic of Ireland twice and England at Wembley over the past 12 months and have only lost two of their last 14 at home, including an impressive draw against France in November 2023.
Belgium have won only once since drawing 0-0 with Ukraine in neutral Germany at last summer’s Euros so can’t be fancied against the same nation in neutral Spain. Ukraine look strong whereas new Red Devils’ boss Rudi Garcia has inherited a golden generation which has lost all of its lustre – and many of its stars.
