MLB Predictions FAQs
When do you post your MLB predictions?
Our baseball tips are posted by 6pm UK time every day except Sunday, when they are posted at 4pm due to matches starting earlier. Make sure to bookmark this page and check the site at these times to get the best early value!
What baseball tips do you cover?
We offer a great variety of free MLB picks every day, meaning you can regularly expect tips on the following:
Accumulators – One of our most popular MLB tips, these offer big returns!
Mega Odds Accumulators – If you thought returns on standard accumulators were big, wait until you see what you can get from a mega odds acca! These are on offer whenever there’s a full schedule of MLB action.
Daily Double – This is where we put our best two tips of the day into a double. With cumulative odds usually around evens, it’s one of our most confident picks of the day.
TV Games – We preview every live game covered on BT Sport/ESPN. You’ll never miss a thing with our MLB predictions!
What does run line mean in baseball betting?
The run line is a type of handicap bet in baseball. Think of handicap betting in football – it’s essentially the same thing. To give an example, you could place a run line bet that looks like this: New York Yankees 1.5 @ Boston Red Sox +1.5. So with this 1.5 run line, the Red Sox must win the game outright or lose by less than 1.5 runs for your bet to win. If the Yankees win they must do so by more than 1.5 runs for your bet to win.
The ‘alternative run line’ is the same as above but the standard run line is altered to a different number of runs. If the spread is set at a whole number, such as New York Yankees -1 @ Boston Red Sox +1, and your team wins/loses by that exact number of runs then your bet is considered a push and your stake will be refunded.
Other MLB betting terms explained
Money Line – This is an American sports term which simply refers to one team winning the match. If you are backing a team on the money line then they must win for your bet to come in. In betting terms, the phrase ‘New York Yankees Money Line’ means ‘New York Yankees to win’.
Game Totals – This is betting on the total number of runs scored in the game. This works just like goals betting in football, and might look like this: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox – Over/Under 7.5. This would mean you need 8 total runs or more to win the Overs part of the bet and 7 total runs or less to win the Unders.
As with the run line, ‘alternative game totals’ is the same as normal game totals but the number of runs is altered. These tips can be found under our alternative game totals tab. If the game total is a whole number, such as 7, and the total runs scored are 7, then your bet becomes a push and your stake is refunded.
Parlay – This is a term Americans use for accumulators. These give you the chance for big winnings!
How best to bet on baseball
The best way is to be informed. Our baseball tips are given by experts and give you all the information you need before placing a bet. If you’d like to supplement these with a bit of your own research, make sure to take a couple of factors into account.
Look at how strong each team’s defence is by analysing their starting pitcher, and how strong their attack is by observing their hitters. External factors such as home-field advantage and weather conditions (particularly wind speed, temperature and humidity) can also have an impact.
Using free bets is another great way to bet on baseball, and you can find the best of these on our free bets page. All our MLB picks are fully researched and completely free but we can’t guarantee winners. Please gamble responsibly and visit our gambling guidelines for more information (18+).
Who is most likely to win the 2022 World Series?
The World Series is an annual championship contested between the American League (AL) champion and the National League (NL) champion. It takes place in autumn, so is often also known as the Fall Classic.
You can check out the current standings here. Traditionally strong teams include the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
