Czech Masters predictions & betting tips

Czech Masters winner prediction – Sam Horsfield at 10/1

Sam Horsfield has contended numerous times on the European Tour this season and this week could finally be the moment when this great talent turns his good form into silverware.

The Manchester-born, Florida-based powerhouse won twice last summer – the Hero Open and the Celtic Classic – and has been threatening to complete a Tour hat-trick ever since returning to the circuit in March after a back injury.

The 24-year-old has posted five top-eight finishes in his last ten regulation European Tour events and he was sixth in the Cazoo Open last time out. That build-up compares favourably to the mood he was in when arriving for his Czech Masters debut in 2019 – he had missed his last two cuts and looked set to slip outside of the world’s top 300.

The Albatross Course though – with its wide-open terrain and four par-fives – provided the perfect tonic for Horsfield. He is a powerful, attacking, aggressive player who fell in love with the Albatross and finished third, stabilising his career.

This week is his second visit to the track and the trophy could be coming his way. A poor field has gathered in Prague and Horsfield may leave them all behind. PGA Tour regular Rory Sabbatini is being given great respect by the market after he followed an Olympic silver medal with tenth place in the Wyndham Championship, but it must be remembered that he had missed four cuts in a row prior to that and remains outside the world’s top 100.

Czech Masters outsider predictions – Nicolai Hojgaard at 50/1

A better value alternative to hotpot Horsfield is Nicolai Hojgaard – another big-hitter who can be fancied to rip the Albatross to shreds.

Hojgaard, 14th in the Cazoo Open and 21st in the Cazoo Classic last Sunday, is an improving 20-year-old who can be expected to make a breakthrough soon.
