120/1 for Chelsea to beat Liverpool & 46/1 Ultimate Bet Builder!
Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
The big game of the weekend is the clash between two of the top four at Anfield, as Chelsea head to Liverpool. That game has been covered in our Premier League predictions, but I’ve looked at some other angles to produce a 46/1 bet builder tip.
This fivefold has been selected with Paddy Power, who are offering odds of 120/1 on the Blues to win for new customers.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Ultimate Bet Builder Tip
Luis Diaz to score anytime
Luis Diaz scored in both meetings between these clubs in the league last season and the Colombian is bidding to continue a red-hot start to the campaign.
Diaz has scored five times in the Premier League this season, with three of those strikes coming at Anfield. Given how Mo Salah has reverted to more of a creative role under Arne Slot, back Diaz to net in this contest.
Cole Palmer to score or assist
Chelsea’s Palmer has been brilliant so far this season, scoring six goals and assisting another five in his first six Premier League games of the campaign. The Blues have left him out of their Conference League squad and he’s been rested in the Carabao Cup to focus fully on the league.
Palmer has delivered either a goal or an assist in five of his six league games and Maresca has tailored his tactical approach towards Palmer’s strengths, making him the hub of the attack. Back him to have an impact at Anfield.
Noni Madueke to have 2+ shots
Madueke has been a key part of Maresca’s approach, with his pace and attacking threat helping to stretch the pitch and deliver more space for Palmer. The winger has nailed down a spot on the right of midfield and his displays have even earned an England call-up, with his hat-trick against Wolves undoubtedly the highlight.
Madueke hasn’t been able to match that impact of late, but not for lack of trying. The winger has had at least two shots in nine of his 11 matches for club and country this season, including his three attempts across 63 minutes for England during October’s international break.
Madueke only failed to have two efforts on goal in the clash with Brighton, when Palmer went supernova and scored four times. The Seagull’s high line troubled him, but the winger isn’t shy to have an effort from the slightest opening. As a result, his price to have at least two shots is a real standout.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch to each make 2+ fouls
One of the key tactical battles in this contest is Chelsea’s box midfield against Liverpool’s trio. Maresca pushes one of his full-backs into midfield to make a quartet with Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. Marc Cucurella and that trio are the Blues’ most regularly fouled players, with 47 between them.
That midfield superiority tends to trouble teams, which doesn’t bode well for the Reds. Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch lead the way in terms of fouls for the hosts and they will have work to do in Sunday’s encounter.
The Blues will get numbers into the middle of the park and force Liverpool’s deep-sitting pair to chase them down. As a result, both players to record at least two fouls completes this bet builder tip.
