Harry Kane to make an assist
Kane is a short-priced favourite to score anytime in his Bundesliga bow, but there’s more to his game than just scoring. He had more assists than goals at the 2022 World Cup, while he has chipped in with 26 assists across his last three Premier League campaigns.
Kane is set to start ahead of an impressive midfield trio of Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman. Those three combined for 34 Bundesliga goals last term and with Kane able to drop deep to facilitate them that’s a potentially frightening front four.
It’s noticeable that Kane’s assists dropped off last season, a year where he had to carry the scoring burden for a group of misfiring teammates. He won’t have the same issues with that Bayern midfield behind him and his price of 2/1 for an assist looks like great value given his link-up play.
Niclas Fullkrug to score
Kane will have his eyes on topping the scoring charts in Germany this term and to do that he’ll need to see off last season’s top scorer, Werder Bremen’s Niclas Fullkrug.
The forward scored his first goal of the season last weekend and he found the net 10 times in 15 home appearances in the Bundesliga last season. Given how shaky Bayern’s defence looked against RB Leipzig last week, the forward is a great anytime scorer option on Friday night.
Amos Pieper to be carded
Pieper is the man tasked with keeping Kane quiet on Friday night, but that could be a struggle. The centre-half was booked nine times in the Bundesliga last term, including five bookings in 15 appearances at home.
We’ve already touched on Bayern’s impressive attacking options so it’s hard to see Pieper having much success. The defender is a good bet to be booked this weekend.
Kim Min-jae to be carded
Kim Min-jae is set to make his Bayern debut alongside Kane, with the ex-Napoli defender tasked with improving a backline which didn’t click under Thomas Tuchel.
The South Korean defender is a quality addition, but he found himself in the book on plenty of occasions last term. He was booked five times in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, with all of those coming on the road. He picked up seven bookings on the road across all competitions in 2022/23, so he could start life in Germany with a booking.
