Defending champions Atletico Madrid welcome Villarreal to the Wanda Metropolitano in the late La Liga kick off on Sunday and we’ve put together a 29/1 bet builder ahead of the action.
We’re not expecting a high scoring affair in the Spanish capital this weekend and that isn’t necessarily a good thing when it comes to bet builder, but we’ve still managed to come up with four selections at a combined odds of 29/1 based on some selections from our dedicated Match Predictions section.
29/1 Atletico Madrid vs Villarreal Bet Builder
Atletico Madrid to win
Atletico have started their title defence in style and have a maximum six points to show from two games so far.
Los Colchoneros have now won their last five La Liga outings stretching back into last season and can make it six in a row against a Villarreal outfit who have drawn both of their games so far, against Granada and Espanyol.
Atleti have won three of their last five meetings with Villarreal, drawing the other two, and home advantage should see them claim another three points on Sunday.
Under 2.5 Goals
Villarreal are yet to score or concede in La Liga and we’re not expecting too many goals when these two sides meet. One of Atletico’s games has produced under 2.5 goals so far, and there have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of the last six meetings between the two sides.
Angel Correa anytime goalscorer
Atletico Madrid have scored three La Liga goals this season, and all of them have been put away by midfielder Angel Correa.
The 26-year-old does seem to have taken on more responsibility in attack this season and is averaging 2.0 shots per-game, way up on the 1.4 he averaged last term. Correa has always been a goal threat for Atleti, he scored nine La Liga goals last term, and at a big price looks a good candidate for an anytime effort.
Villarreal corners match bet
Atletico Madrid won just two corners in their last outing, a 1-0 home win over Elche, and forced five in their season opener at Celta Vigo.
The Yellow Submarines aren’t necessarily a great team for overs backers in the corners market either but may well win more than their hosts on Sunday but they have won 13 corners in total this season across two games and can win the corners match bet in Madrid.
