Newcastle are one of the Premier League’s leading sides when it comes to drawing fouls, largely driven by their midfield. Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Sandro Tonali rank among the top four in terms of Newcastle’s most-fouled players this season, along with the suspended Anthony Gordon.
Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister committed five fouls against the Magpies when they met last month and he finished with three fouls in December’s visit to St James’ Park. The Argentine has made more fouls than any other Liverpool player in the Premier League this season, so back him to make three or more.
Bruno Guimaraes to commit 2+ fouls at 5/4
Newcastle look set to have plenty of defending to do at Wembley and captain Bruno Guimaraes will be required to put in a big shift in the heart of midfield if his side are going to lift the trophy.
The Brazil international is second in tackles for the Magpies in the league this season while his foul count leaves him behind just Joelinton in his club’s charts.
Guimaraes made two fouls in the 2-0 loss to Liverpool in February and he can get pulled by the referee at least twice once again.
Dominik Szoboszlai to have 1+ shot on target at 4/6
In what could be a cagey EFL Cup final, Liverpool will be looking to usual suspect Mo Salah to unlock the door but another goal threat is midfield ace Dominik Szoboszlai.
Only Salah (55) and Luis Diaz (23) have managed more shots on target than Szoboszlai (18) and the Hungarian loves to get forward.
The midfielder managed to get on the scoresheet in the second leg of Liverpool’s EFL Cup semi-final with Tottenham and he broke the deadlock against Newcastle in the Premier League as recently as February.
