3,951/1 Treble for this week's PGA, European and Asian Tour events

3,951/1 Treble for this week's PGA, European and Asian Tour events

This week’s PGA Tour action comes in the shape of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California, while the European Tour heads to the UAE for the Ras al Khaimah Championship and we also have an Asian Tour event to look forward to with the Saudi International taking place at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.

Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer is back with his tips ahead of the event and he’s picked out a winner for each tournament.  As a treble, the bet pays out at a huge 3,951/1 and as always he recommends backing it as an each-way bet covering the top five places in each tournament.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Ras al Khaimah Championship & Saudi International Winners Treble

There are three golf tournaments for punters to consider this week, providing the opportunity for an each-way treble, and the recommendation is to gun for a 3,951/1 chance.

If you put Romain Langasque to win the Ras al Khaimah Championship (25/1) with Thomas Pieters for the Saudi International (18/1) and Pebble Beach Pro-Am favourite Patrick Cantlay (7/1), the odds become incredible and an each-way bet will yield healthy returns if Langasque, Pieters and Cantlay all finish in the places.

Langasque can be fancied for the Ras al Khaimah Championship on the basis of both his course and current form. He finished sixth and fourth in his two starts at the venue on the Challenge Tour, and he has opened his 2022 campaign with 12th place in Abu Dhabi and 18th in the Dubai Desert Classic. The Ras al Khaimah has a much weaker field than Abu Dhabi or the Desert Classic, so Langasque can feel confident of making an impression.

Pieters is also bursting with confidence, having won two of his last four tournaments. Last year’s Portugal Masters victory has been followed by an even better one – a Rolex Series success in Abu Dhabi – and Pieters is again looking every inch of the player who top scored in the 2016 Ryder Cup. Pieters has a great record at Royal Greens, which hosts the Saudi International, including third place in 2020.

Cantlay may bring home the treble in his home state of California. The reigning FedEx Cup champion and PGA Tour Player of the Year has started this year with fourth place in the Sentry Tournament of Champions and ninth in The American Express. He seems a good putting week away from destroying a field and Pebble Beach, where he finished third last year, could be the perfect stage.
