Wednesday’s Championship actions pits together two sides who were in the Premier League last term, as West Brom and Sheffield United battle for promotion.
These two are among the favourites for a top-flight return and we’ve sided with the hosts in our West Brom vs Sheffield United predictions. However, we’ve also put together a 54/1 bet builder for the big game, which you can see below.

West Brom vs Sheffield United Bet Builder selections
West Brom to win
These two sides are under new management to start the campaign, but only one has adapted so far. West Brom’s Valerien Ismael has an adventurous style of play but he has managed to win over his players with it already, drawing 2-2 in their opener before a 3-2 win last weekend.
Meanwhile, Slavisa Jokanovic’s attack-minded approach has yielded a 1-0 home defeat and a 0-0 draw for Sheffield United. With West Brom’s approach all about outscoring the opposition we fancy them to stop a Sheffield United side who aren’t taking their chances. Given that, we’re kicking things off with West Brom to win.
Callum Robinson to score
Next up, former Sheffield United man Callum Robinson has made a brilliant start to this season. He’s scored in both games for his club and he looks primed for a great campaign under Ismael’s attacking approach. With an impressive record at Championship level in recent years, we’re backing Robinson to score against his former club.
George Baldock to be booked
Baldock is coming off a campaign where he was booked on seven occasions for the Blades. Having already found himself in the book after just two games of the new season it wouldn’t be a shock to see the full-back in trouble here, especially with Robinson playing on his side along with overlapping wing-back Conor Townsend.
Matthew Clarke 1+ shots on target
Clarke had a good year for Derby last term and his arrival at West Brom has strengthened an already impressive backline. The centre-half is a real aerial threat, as he showed with two shots on target in his debut against Luton. Ismael made Barnsley one of the Championship’s most effective sides from set pieces last term, so we see a lot of value in Clarke to have at least one shot on target.
