Ahead of the Curve: Expert Euro 2024 final goalscorer bets

Euro 2024 reaches a conclusion on Sunday as Spain and England meet in the showpiece at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
With the end in sight, we asked a team of five experts for their best goalscorer bets ahead of the final.
Mark Langdon
The goal expectancy is low so there are eye-catching prices and I would suggest one from each team. Dani Olmo has already got three goals and two assists in these finals and that’s a fine return given he has started only two matches. Alvaro Morata is the shortest-priced Spaniard but you could make a case for Olmo, Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal all being at least as likely as him to score.
England have two on my shortlist – Phil Foden, who is knocking on the door, and Kobbie Mainoo who might be the spare man in midfield . Let’s go with Foden.
James Milton
Rival captains Harry Kane and Alvaro Morata make little appeal at the head of the market so Phil Foden and Fabian Ruiz are more tempting bets.
Foden has benefited from England’s 3-4-2-1 formation. He was desperately unlucky not to score against the Netherlands, having racked up 26 goals in 40 Premier League and Champions League starts for Manchester City.
Spain midfielder Ruiz gets into some dangerous positions and is averaging three shots per game at the Euros. He scored against Croatia and Georgia and missed a great headed chance in the first five minutes against France.
Aaron Ashley
Now back playing centrally, Phil Foden looked a serious threat in the semi-final against Netherlands and he looks England’s most likely goalscorer at present.
The Manchester City maestro had three shots against the Dutch, two of which were on target and the other hitting the post, and he will cause Spain plenty of problems if finding those pockets of space. That should have given Foden, who netted 19 goals in 35 Premier League appearances this season, plenty of confidence.
Liam Flinn
A lot has been made of Dani Olmo’s goalscoring contribution in this tournament but fellow midfielder Fabian Ruiz is also not averse to having a crack at goal and looks overpriced to score at 10-1.
Ruiz has had 15 attempts at Euro 2024, just one less than wonderkid Lamine Yamal and the same as Olmo with five on target, six off and four having been blocked.
Goals have been spread around this Spain team in this tournament with PSG midfielder Ruiz scoring twice already and in a cagey contest in Berlin, there could be a fair few efforts from range.
Jamie Griffith
Although I think his performances at the tournament have been overblown by many pundits, Jude Bellingham could step up in the final.
He has shown his aptitude for the big stage on plenty of occasions, most recently when scoring a 95th-minute overhead kick to rescue England against Slovakia in the round of 16.
He netted a brace in his first El Clasico before scoring a stoppage-time winner in the reverse fixture against Barcelona.
Furthermore, every goal Spain have conceded at the tournament has come via a cross, meaning Bellingham’s late runs into the box and significant aerial presence could provide a viable route to goal for the Three Lions.
