Leeds and Burnley have already secured their place in the Premier League for next season after locking in the top two spots in the Championship with a few games to spare.
The promoted teams have found it tough in recent years, however, and last season’s promoted trio are all heading back down this season.
Bet365 have prices for both Burnley and Leeds to stay up next season, and we asked a trio of our experts whether or not they thought either of the newly promoted duo can make an impact in the top flight.

While Leeds and Burnley head into the weekend level on points, the between them is actually far greater. FotMob’s expected points table has Leeds on 96 and Burnley on 72, suggesting the Whites are far better equipped to stay in the Premier League. If expert shot-stopper James Trafford leaves as expected, Burnley will be a deserved short price to finish bottom.

It’s hard to be confident in either of their prospects given the obvious growing gulf in class between the Premier League and the Championship. You’d be more confident in survival for Leeds, who may have more ammunition to give it a go in the top-flight given they did less splashing of the cash in January. Even so, I could see both going back down.

Recent seasons suggest badly and the priority has to be to grind it out and just try to get a foothold in the division. Both are arguably stronger than the three teams who came up last season but it would be a surprise if either were not in the bottom six. Burnley’s defensive record bodes well, but how long can they keep hold of goalkeeper James Trafford?
