Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois prediction and fight preview
Joshua comes into the bout as the heavy favourite at 1/3 and Dubois is a 3/1 underdog. Ultimately, AJ probably will win this as he is the more complete fighter of the two but at those prices backing a Joshua doesn’t look particularly appealing. Backing Joshua to win in rounds 7-12 at 13/8 looks one option, but instead focusing on what Dubois brings to the table looks a good way to get a bit of value out of this contest.
This fight is closer than the odds suggest and the 7/4 on Dubois to score a knockdown looks a good option. Dubois has claimed 20 of his 21 wins inside the distance and was incredibly unlucky not to at least be awarded a knockdown in his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, with the shot that put Usyk down judged to be a low blow.
Joshua has improved his defensive skills in recent years but he has been knocked down a few times over the course of his career, and Dubois may only need to land one big shot to score a knockdown. If Dynamite can find an opening against Usyk, he can engineer a chance against Joshua and if the challenger is to become a three-time world champion he may have to pull himself off the canvas to win.
Saturday’s 17/1 Boxing Treble
Daniel Dubois: 1 or More knockdowns vs Anthony Joshua
Hamzah Sheeraz to win in rounds 1-6 vs Tyler Denny
Hamzah Sheeraz is fighting for the European title but it won’t be too long before he is competing at world level. Sheeraz has looked devastating since moving up to middleweight with six stoppages, four of those have come inside the opening two rounds and another was in the fifth. Tyler Denny is a solid competitor but this looks a bit of a mismatch and Sheeraz can claim another KO win in the first half of this fight.
Anthony Cacace to win by KO, TKO or DQ vs Josh Warrington
Anthony Cacace produced the best performance of his career to stun Joe Cordina in his last outing and can follow that up by stopping Josh Warrington. Cacace’s power was key against Cordina as he bullied him throughout, he may find it a little tougher against experienced campaigner Warrington but the Leeds man comes into this bout on the back of a disappointing stoppage defeat to Leigh Wood – having been ahead on the cards when he was caught off guard – and Cacace looks to have enough about him to record an early finish.
