Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
I’m expecting another late show from the Premier League leaders in my Everton vs Liverpool predictions. However, there are plenty more interesting angles for Saturday’s Mersey side derby, so I’ve put together a 56/1 bet builder tip for the contest.
This fourfold has been priced up through Paddy Power, who are offering £50 in free bets to new customers who sign up and bet £10!
Everton vs Liverpool Ultimate Bet Builder
Mohamed Salah to score
Salah has been in stunning form for the Reds this season and he’s scored in seven consecutive Premier League games ahead of Saturday’s encounter.
The forward has scored six times in his last eight meetings with Everton and given his impressive form of late, it’s hard to ignore him in the goalscoring stakes this weekend.
Curtis Jones 1+ shots on target
Arne Slot’s arrival has been a huge boost for Curtis Jones and he’s repaying the Dutchman’s faith with a string of good displays. He’s quickly proving himself in a number 10 role, as only Luis Diaz and Salah have more shots on target in the Premier League so far.
Jones has had at least one shot on target in three of his four games since the international break, only falling short in a clash with Real Madrid. The midfielder still had four efforts on goal against the Spanish giants, while he made an impact in a seven-minute cameo against Man City.
Jones is expected to start and the derby should be hugely important to the Reds’ hometown star. Back him to have at least one shot on target at Goodison.
Iliman Ndiaye to be fouled 2+ times
Ndiaye has been fouled more often than any other Everton player this season, so his price to draw two or more on Saturday really appeals. He’ll be crucial to the way the Toffees attack, especially as he’ll be running at an out-of-sorts Andy Robertson.
Ndiaye has been fouled twice in five of his last six games and his desire to drift inside also helps in this market, as Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister lead the way for Liverpool in terms of fouls.
Overall, the Reds have committed the fifth-most fouls in away Premier League games this season and the derby atmosphere should see that number increase.
Virgil Van Dijk to be carded
Van Dijk is a huge 4/1 for a card in Saturday’s clash, with the centre-half tending to keep his discipline. His return of one booking and just eight fouls in 14 league games underlines his quality, but the Dutchman doesn’t always keep his cool at Goodison.
In fact, Van Dijk has been booked in this fixture in each of the previous three seasons. The heated atmosphere could lead to Van Dijk losing his cool. After all, his single Premier League booking this term came at Old Trafford, while he picked up two cautions at Euro 2024 and was sent off for his nation in October’s international break. Pair that with this Goodison record and his price for a card looks like an oversight.
