Saturday’s late Premier League clash sees West Ham hosting Arsenal, as the Hammers aim to build on an impressive victory at Newcastle on Monday night.
However, the Gunners laid down a marker in Lisbon two nights later, with a convincing 5-1 win boosting their fortunes ahead of a favourable run. Arsenal head into Saturday’s clash as strong favourites but I’ve dug into some other markets to produce a 41/1 Ultimate Bet Builder, which you can see below.
West Ham vs Arsenal Ultimate Bet Builder
Bukayo Saka to score
Saka has scored and assisted in Arsenal’s two games since the international break, with Martin Odegaard’s return freeing the winger and allowing him to return to his best. The Gunners are a much better side with Odegaard and Saka in tandem and that factors into our approach here.
Saka should get opportunities against Emerson, especially as Crysensio Summerville looks like a lightweight backup on that flank.
Kai Havertz to score or be carded
Kai Havertz has been a card magnet during his stint in English football, so it was odd to see him avoid a caution before their trip to Newcastle earlier this month. Havertz was still fouling at a high rate, as he’s consistently led his teammates in terms of fouls throughout the campaign.
After picking up cautions in his last two league games, Havertz is a good option for a card here. However, he also produced an impressive display against Sporting in midweek, finishing with 1.1 Expected Goals and 1.1 Expected Assists. After netting for Germany during the break he’s also a decent goalscorer shout, so take the evens available on him to either score or be booked.
David Raya to make 3+ saves
The Gunners are strong favourites in this trip but that shouldn’t translate to a quiet evening for David Raya. The Gunners’ stopper has made 34 saves in 12 league games this season – which averages out at just shy of three per game.
Raya made an incredible seven saves in the win at Sporting and he’s going up against a Hammers outfit who have found their groove going forward. The hosts have had six shots on goal in each of their last two games, so Raya is good value to make at least three saves.
Carlos Soler to be carded
Soler came into the side for Edson Alvarez against Newcastle and he’s likely to keep his role in the side following that win. Before that strip to St James’, Soler had picked up three cards in 270 Premier League minutes.
With a clash against a reinvigorated Arsenal midfield to come, Soler should have a tougher task ahead of him this weekend. Given that he has picked up cautions against three fellow London sides this season, back Soler for a card on Saturday.
