DP World Tour Championship and RSM Classic tips with 97/1 double
The 2023 DP World Tour season meets its finale in Dubai this week as Europe’s big three – Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm – dominate the market for the DP World Tour Championship at Dubai’s iconic Earth Course.
In the US, the final PGA Tour tournament of 2023 takes place at Sea Island, Georgia, home of the RSM Classic since 2010 and Racing & Football Outlook golf expert Joe Champion has picked his winners for each tournament. The two selections combine for a 97/1 double, which we recommend backing as an each-way bet.

DP World Tour Championship prediction – Jon Rahm at 11/2
Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland are second, third and fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking and it’s no surprise to see bookmakers struggling to separate the heavyweight trio at the top of the betting.
McIlroy has been remarkably consistent, finishing no worse than seventh in 11 of his last 12 events and producing arguably his best ever Ryder Cup performance, while Hovland arrives in Dubai in the form of his life having won three titles since the beginning of June.
However, neither has been seen in non-Ryder Cup action for two months and McIlroy spent much of last week promoting TGL, the virtual golf league he has created alongside Tiger Woods.
Both of them could turn it on at the Earth Course but Rahm has been in action more recently, finishing ninth at last month’s Spanish Open, and while his recent form figures are not quite on a par with his two main rivals, we know he adores this layout.
The Earth Course, home to this event since 2009, presents an all-round test but, primarily, it has been a happy hunting ground for super-elite drivers and Rahm fits firmly in that bracket.
The 29-year-old proved that when winning on course debut in 2017, then he finished fourth off a lengthy break the following season, before going on to win the title in 2019 and 2022, each time in his first appearance after playing in the Spanish Open.
That latest win took the Masters champion’s course form figures to 1-4-1-1 and while he has not been at his very best in recent outings, he still won three points from four Ryder Cup matches.
RSM Classic winner prediction – Russell Henley at 14/1
The RSM Classic is the final PGA Tour event of 2023 and one last chance for those who are at risk of losing their cards to keep hold of their status for next year’s revamped FedEx Cup season.
Ludvig Aberg leads the betting as he seeks a place in the world’s top 50 but Russell Henley, who has no such worries now ranked a career-high 25th, looks a better bet from the main contenders.
Henley hasn’t played since the Tour Championship and decided against defending his World Wide Technology Championship title two weeks ago, but he finished last season in fine form and he knows the two courses which make up the RSM Classic well.
Sea Island’s Seaside Course, which hosts three rounds of the event, is a test of precision and short-game skills and Henley, the straight driver on the PGA Tour this year, is made for the layout, finishing in the top ten there on three previous occasions.
