Real Betis vs Villarreal – Villarreal to win at 11/5 with bet365

This is a massive game in the battle for the European spots in La Liga and underdogs Villarreal may be able to raid the Benito Villamarín.

Villarreal have won three of their last four away from home and they come into this game a little fresher, as Betis had a midweek Conference League fixture.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Los Verdiblancos have been in great form but they do have the second leg of their tie with Jagiellonia on the horizon and they have lost at home to Alaves and Gent since the turn of the year.

The last three head-to-head meetings have been won by the away side and that pattern could continue here, as Villarreal boast the second best road record in the division.

Alaves vs Real Madrid – Real to win and over 2.5 goals at 11/8 with bet365

Real Madrid need to bounce back after two damaging defeats, but they head to 17th-placed Alaves having won six of their seven meetings with the bottom four this term. The European champions have scored three times in each of those six victories, while they meet an Alaves side who have lost all of their encounters with the top three.

Real have been a little shaky at the back of late, with both teams scoring in each of their last five La Liga outings. Take Real to win this trip with over 2.5 goals to be scored.

Auxerre vs Lyon – Auxerre win or draw double chance at 4/5 with bet365

Auxerre have strengthened their chances of a top-half finish with ten points from their last four games and they can add to that tally against a Lyon side that may be distracted on Sunday.

The visitors have a crucial second leg at Old Trafford to prepare for next week, and Les Gones have struggled on the road at times this season, winning just three of their last ten Ligue 1 trips.

Auxerre have lost only two of their 14 home games this season and only one of their last 12, including positive results against leading duo PSG and Marseille. They can get another result against the odds on Sunday.

Lazio vs Roma – Roma at 8/5 with bet365

There is plenty riding on Sunday’s Derby della Capitale but Roma should have the edge over city rivals Lazio.

Roma have gone from strength to strength under Claudio Ranieri and have won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions, whereas Lazio have had a tough time of it recently.

They were turned over 2-0 in a tough away assignment against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday and only last month they were hammered 5-0 by Bologna in Serie A.

Aaron Ashley

Fiorentina vs Parma – Fiorentina at 8/11 with bet365

Fiorentina do have the distraction of a Conference League quarter-final second leg with Celje on Thursday but they have not given up on securing a top-six finish in Serie A and can’t afford to take their foot off the gas against Parma.

La Viola are unbeaten in five games in all competitions after Thursday’s 2-1 first-leg success in Slovenia and they have won five of their last six home matches in Serie A.

That includes claiming the scalps of Inter, Juventus and Atalanta and they should have too much in reserve for Parma, who have won only one of their last 13 league games to leave them just three points above the relegation zone.

Joe Casey

Newcastle vs Manchester United – Newcastle at 13/20 with bet365

Newcastle have won 11 of their last 15 Premier League games, only Liverpool have a better record over that run, and they should be able to extend that record against Manchester United.

The Red Devils’ Europa League quarter-final against Lyon is finely balanced at 2-2 and that will take precedence given the fact that they have only pride to play for in the Premier League, currently sitting 13th in the table.

Expect Ruben Amorim to rest some of his starters and they look likely to be swept aside by a Newcastle side who are right in the mix for a Champions League spot and outclassed these opponents in the reverse fixture.
