2.30 Queen Anne Stakes
Tip: Modern Games
Proved himself the best older miler in Europe when running away with the Lockinge at Newbury last time and is a tough and consistent performer. Trainer Charlie Appleby is in fine form and Modern Games can follow up.
3.05 Coventry Stakes
Tip: River Tiber
Has looked like a top-class juvenile in the making in winning twice in Ireland and recorded a good time when successful over 5f at Naas last time. There should be improvement to come now he is upped to 6f for the first time.
3.40 King’s Stand Stakes
Tip: Mitbaahy
Progressive last season when winning a Listed race at Sandown and a Group 3 at Newbury. Has been drawn out of things on the wrong side of the track at Longchamp and Haydock on his last two starts and could bounce back.
4.20 St James’s Palace Stakes
Tip: Cicero’s Gift
Not a strong fancy, but could run well if the rain arrives. Has plenty to find on form, but comes into the race held in the highest regard by trainer Charlie Hills and might be capable of improving past the market principals.
5.00 Ascot Stakes
Tip: Zoffee
Takes the same route as last year’s winner Coltrane, having finished second in the Chester Cup last time, and any rain will be in his favour. All of his best form has come with plenty of ease in the ground and there is precipitation forecast.
5.35 Wolferton Stakes
Tip: Cadillac
Second in this race last year, but might be capable of going one better for new trainer George Boughey. Cadillac bounced back to form when winning in a good time at Epsom this month and has more to offer for his relatively new yard.
6.10 Copper Horse Stakes
Tip: Vauban
Classy hurdler who could be thrown in off a mark of 101 now that he returns to the Flat and Willie Mullins will have had a Royal Ascot bid in mind for a long time. He doesn’t usually miss when he lines one up and Ryan Moore rides
