Who to Bench
Sadio Mane
The in demand Southampton forward hasn’t found the net in his last six games, and a Southampton side who have lost four of their last five in all competitions host Tottenham Hotspurs. I don’t expect him to have much luck on Saturday, and I’d get rid before his price plummets.
Key Manchester City Players
Manuel Pellegrini opted to bench both Aleksandar Kolarov and Kevin De Bruyne last weekend, their two highest scoring players in Fantasy Football. Manchester City have a run of eight games in the next 26 days so we can expect more rotation. I would imagine Kolarov and De Bruyne will return for the game against Arsenal, but you should tread with caution over the next month or so as far as City players are concerned.
Norwich Attackers
The out of form Norwich have only managed to find the net three times in their last five matches, and they visit the defensive fortress of Old Trafford on Saturday. Manchester United have only conceded one goal at home all season, so I’m not expecting Norwich to find the net on Saturday.
Who to Buy
Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez
If you haven’t got these two already you’re lagging behind. The two Leicester attackers have notched 26 goals between them in the league this season and accumulated a huge 246 points. The Premier League leaders visit a defensively poor Everton on Saturday in what we’re expecting to be a high scoring match.
Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley
Same reason as above. The two Everton players have 18 league goals between them and Lukaku looks like the only striker capable of keeping pace with Vardy at the top of the scoring charts. Leicester focus on attacking rather than defending, so any or all of these four players could notch a couple.
Bafetimbi Gomis – Price: 6.5 Million
The Swansea striker’s price has plummeted after his goal drought, and if you’re stuck for a striker you could do worse than him. He served up a goal last weekend as Swansea improved dramatically against Manchester City. It might be early days, but I think he could get back to form with the change of management, and they host an out of form West Ham side this weekend.
Georginio Wijnaldum – Price: 7.0 Million
The new signing from PSV is one of Newcastle’s only real threat, and he proved his worth with a four goal haul against Norwich that contributed to his seven Premier League goals. Newcastle come up against Aston Villa on Saturday as well, so he could net a goal or two.
