Who to Bench
Callum Wilson
The bargain Bournemouth striker has had his good form cut short by a serious knee injury that he sustained against Stoke last weekend. He’s going to be out for a suspected six months, so it’s time to get rid unfortunately.
Bafetimbi Gomis
He started the season with a brilliant run of form, but him and Swansea have gone off the boil over the past few weeks. He’s only managed five points in his last three games and they play a Spurs side in the ascendancy. It could be time to cash in on the striker and bring someone with easier opposition in.
Swansea Defence
Swansea’s defence started the season almost as well as their attack, but they let in three goals against Southampton last weekend and face a Spurs side who are looking a lot better going forward. Harry Kane got his first club goal of the season last week as well so his confidence will have been pulled from the depths.
Who to Buy
Cheikhou Kouyate – Price: 5.6 Million
The West Ham attacker is one of the most overlooked players in the game. He costs 2.3 million less than the equally excellent Dimitri Payet, and has managed to bag 36 points already this season. West Ham play Sunderland away from home this weekend, and the Hammers have won all three of their away games so far against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. Him and Payet could have a field day on Saturday, so I would recommend getting them both in.
Scott Dann – Price: 5.0 Million
The Crystal Palace defenders has managed to pick up a goal and an assist so far this season, and with them facing a West Brom side who struggle going forward he could easily get clean sheet points as well.
Norwich Attackers
Wes Hoolahan has hit a really good spell of form recently, and with Nathan Redmond performing well all season they are likely to be involved in anything Norwich do going forward. They could be doing a lot going forward as well when they face a Leicester side who have been involved in some high scoring matches this term. They also face the struggling Newcastle next week.
Jamie Vardy – Price: 6.6 Million
Norwich haven’t been good at the back either, so a high scoring match could be on the cards in Norwich vs Leicester. Jamie Vardy has managed to pick up 24 points in his last three games, and between him and Riyad Mahrez along with the Norwich attackers this could be a really high scoring week.
Kevin De Bruyne – Price: 10.2 Million
The £50 million man has already started paying back his fee. He got a goal in their loss to West Ham and another in their loss to Spurs. He was also by far the best player on the pitch in their win against Sunderland in the League Cup, and he’s looking like he will be a key figure in their starting lineup. They play against Newcastle and Bournemouth over the next two weeks, so he’s got the chance to grab some more points.
