Four tipsters pick their best outright bet for 2025
Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
The New Year is roughly the half way point in the football season, making it a good time to take stock of the outright betting markets.
With that in mind, we’ve asked four tipsters for their best bet for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign and they’ve provided 5/1, 13/2 and two 16/1 selections! Each of these tips have been priced with bet365, who continue to run this excellent offer for new customers.

Leyton Orient are currently eighth and are 16/1 to win promotion from League One. Richie Wellens’ men are unbeaten in eight, with seven wins and a draw and keeping seven clean sheets during that run.
Although they may need the play-offs to go up, they look like a big price for promotion.

Chelsea remain odds-on in the Europa Conference League, but the second-string side they’ve been fielding have come unstuck recently. Plenty of those players featured in the 2-0 loss at Ipswich, while they rotated for a Carabao Cup defeat at Newcastle. The Blues were fortunate to survive the qualifiers after struggling to dispatch Swiss side Servette, so they’re by no means guaranteed to end up with the trophy.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have lost back-to-back Conference League finals, but the Italian side have improved since Raffaele Palladino replaced Vincenzo Italiano. They’ve put themselves in a fight for the top four domestically and they’re already through to the last 16 in Europe.
At 5/1, Fiorentina are a good way to oppose a Chelsea side who remain capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I think backing Barcelona to win the Champions League will give you a good spin for your money.
The Catalans have fallen off the pace domestically, but they’ve won their last five matches in Europe. Their 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund and a 4-1 hammering of Bayern Munich suggests they can go far in Europe.

Lazio’s Valentin Castellanos is a tasty each-way bet to win the Serie A Golden Boot at 16-1 with three places available. The striker, who made his Argentina debut in September, has scored seven goals in 15 starts, leaving him five off the pace set by Inter’s Marcus Thuram and Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, and he is averaging more than four shots per game in Italy’s top flight.
