FST’s #OddsOnThat for Manchester United vs Wolves

Both teams to score

Manchester United are packing a real punch in the final third this season, and only league leaders Liverpool have plundered more goals than Solskjaer’s side overall since the summer.

Keeping the door locked at the other end has proven difficult for the Manchester giants however, and as a result, both teams have scored in six of United’s last eight Premier League assignments.

Wolves might be lacking the killer touch of Raul Jimenez, though they still carry enough threat to cause their hosts a headache or two on Wednesday, and we expect goals to be notched at either end at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes to score anytime

Whether he is whispering passes through the lines or getting on the end of them himself, Bruno Fernandes has been making a match-defining impact every time he has pulled on a red shirt this season.

With an incredible 10 goals and six assists in 13 Premier League starts, the Portuguese maestro is out on his own as United’s most prolific operator this term, and the goal-hungry 26-year-old will be his team’s primary dangerman again this week.

Fernandes rifled home three goals in his last two runouts alone against Leeds and Leicester respectively, and the schemer is worth backing to make his considerable presence felt again against Wolves this week.

Pedro Neto 1+ shots on target

20-year-old Portuguese whizzkid Pedro Neto is enjoying a breakout season for Wolves in 2020/21, and the exciting youngster, who started just nine Premier League games in the previous campaign, has become a Wanderers mainstay this term.

In Raul Jimenez’s absence, Neto has taken on the talismanic mantle for Wolves since the summer and the ex-Braga starlet is the club’s joint top scorer in the Premier League alongside the injured Mexican forward.

Neto also ranks second behind Jimenez for average attempts per game with 1.9, and we’re backing the red-hot attacker to test David de Gea with at least one effort at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Marcus Rashford 3+ shots

With four goals in his last five Premier League appearances, Marcus Rashford has been growing in confidence over the past month, and his increasing influence has also been reflected in his improving attempts figures.

Rashford unleashed three or more shots in four of those aforementioned five fixtures, and with a head of steam pushing him on, the England international is certain to take every opportunity to let fly against Wolves this week.

Ruben Neves to get booked

More renowned for his ability to spray passes all over the pitch, Portuguese playmaker Ruben Neves also has an understated edge to his game, and the 23-year-old’s three Premier League bookings this season puts him joint top of the pile as Wolves’ biggest offender this season.

The cultured midfielder isn’t shy about sticking his foot in, and Neves let his studs do the talking in both of Wolves Premier League encounters with Manchester United in 2019/20.

Neves was cautioned in each of Wanderers’ tempestuous tussles with United for mistimed challenges, and the former Porto star is expected to be right at heart of the action when the teams lock horns again on Tuesday.
