The final international break of the season takes place over the next couple of weeks, and while many fans around the country dread yet another unwanted interruption of top flight football there are others, like us here at FST, that see it as just another fresh opportunity.
Make sure you don’t neglect the international football though! You can find all our Euro 2020 Qualifying Outright Betting Tips here.
So, while we don’t have any of the top European teams in action, it’s time to focus our attentions a little lower down the footballing ladder and find some untapped gems of profitability in the lower leagues.
We’ve delved into all the League 1 and League 2 action this weekend and honed our sights on one of our favourite markets. We’re a bit obsessed with the anytime goalscorer market at the moment, and if you are as well you can find more goalscorer predictions with our International Anytime Goalscorer Tips here.
Tom Eaves (Wimbledon vs Gillingham)
Gillingham might be loitering about in the mediocrity of mid-table in League 1 at the moment, but there is one very bright silver lining to that cloud. That silver lining goes by the name of Tom Eaves, who’s 18 goals this season puts him joint 2nd in the League 1 scoring charts. He has netted a goal every 157 minutes this term, which is a better scoring rate than both James Collins and John Marquis above him in the goalscoring charts.
Eaves will lead the line against a Wimbledon side desperately battling in the relegation zone. The Dons have conceded 14 goals in their last eight home matches in League 1, so with Gillingham’s star striker netting in four of his last five away matches he looks a great price to add to his tally.

Kieran Agard (MK Dons vs Yeovil Town)
Saturday’s League 2 action sees Yeovil Town and MK Dons clash as both teams aim for very different goals at the end of the season. The hosts are challenging up at the top and hope to earn an instant return to League 1, while Yeovil Town are just hoping to remain outside the bottom two. It’s an important match, and the favourites will be looking to one of their two star attackers to make the difference.
Kieran Agard is marginally outperforming teammate Chuks Aneke this season and is joint 2nd in the scoring charts with 18 goals. Half of these goals have come on home soil, but the 29 year old striker has really been hitting the heights recently. Agard has netted seven times in his last nine appearances for MK Dons and has scored five in his last seven home games. He’s coming up against a Yeovil side who have shipped 13 goals in their last six away games too, so he’s got a great chance to add to his tally on Saturday.

James Norwood (Colchester vs Tranmere)
Tranmere are enjoying a fantastic season following their promotion from the National League last term, and there is a very real possibility that they could clinch back-to-back promotions and make it into League 1 for the first time since 2014. If they manage that, they’ll owe one man a huge heap of thanks.
James Norwood leads the League 2 scoring charts by a distance, scoring 25 goals in total and leading 2nd placed Nicky Maynard by a margin of seven. Norwood isn’t letting up as we approach the business end of the season either – He has scored nine goals in his last 11 League 2 appearances, bagging four in his last five away games. Colchester aren’t the worst side in the division, but they have shipped 10 goals in their last six home games and have conceded three goals in three of those matches. This looks a perfect opportunity for Norwood’s 26th goal of the season.

Hallam Hope (Carlisle vs Cambridge)
Hallam Hope has been a shining beacon in a Carlisle United shirt as the Cumbrians shoot for a return to League 1 after their five year absence. Interestingly, despite Carlisle actually performing just as well away from home as they do at Brunton Park, Hope tends to go missing when they travel. 10 of his 12 League 2 goals this season have come on home soil.
The Manchester born attacker has been in incredible form over the last few months as well. He has scored nine goals in his last nine appearances at Brunton Park, failing to score in just one of those games. He will be lining up against a Cambridge United defence who have shipped a dismal 23 goals in their last 11 competitive away matches, so he looks an excellent value addition.
