International breaks are far from anyone’s favourite part of the season, but the good news is that we’re on the verge of the final break for four months. On top of that, this international break is set to feature some entertaining clashes, six of which make up our Goals Galore Long Haul!

Goals Galore Long Haul Accumulator

Thursday – Belgium vs Italy

Belgium’s Nations League campaign has been a struggle, with the Red Devils picking up just one point from their last three matches. They’ve lost home and away to France and drawn with Italy in that run, conceding twice in each game.

The Belgians managed to score twice in a draw away to Italy, while Luciano Spalletti’s side scored at least two goals in all four of their matches in this group. They’ve claimed a 3-1 win in France and a 2-1 victory in their away clash with Israel, while the recently dethroned European champions won the reverse fixture 4-1 last month.

Spalletti seems to be getting his message across better than he did at the Euros, while Belgium remain a side packed with attacking talent and defensive issues. That should lead to another entertaining clash between these two sides.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Thursday – Slovenia vs Norway

Norway’s previous 15 matches have featured at least three goals in all but four, which is little surprise considering the attacking talent at their disposal. Alongside Erling Haaland, who is just shy of a goal per game at international level, Norway can call upon Alexander Sorloth, Antonio Nusa and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

However, Norway are yet to develop defensive talent to the same standard. They were beaten 5-1 in Austria last month and they lost 2-1 in a visit to Slovenia in 2022. The hosts have scored twice or more in six of their previous eight at home and they are led by RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Friday – Portugal vs Poland

Portugal have won and conceded in three of their first four Nations League games, including a 3-1 victory in Poland last month. The visitors managed to kick-off their campaign with a 3-2 win in Scotland, but they’ve failed to win a game since.

Poland are struggling defensively, having let in 10 goals across their four matches in this group. Portugal have been freed from the more restrictive style they showed in Germany and they’re back to playing like the side that scored 21 goals across five home qualifiers ahead of the tournament.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in 10 of Portugal’s 11 home games under Roberto Martinez’s watch, while Poland have seen both teams score in eight of their last nine matches.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Friday – Northern Ireland vs Belarus

Northern Ireland blew Bulgaria away in their last game and they host a weaker Belarus side on Friday. Things are starting to come together for Michael O’Neill, who has had to usher in a new generation after the backbone of their Euro 2016 squad has moved on.

NI raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time in their last game and they clash with a Belarus side who have lost 4-0 to Russia and Israel already this term. O’Neill’s side have won four straight matches at Windsor Park, scoring 11 times in that run. Given that stretch of good scoring form, over 2.5 goals is a standout price.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Saturday – Montenegro vs Iceland

Iceland’s four Nations League games have featured 15 goals, following their 2-2 draw with Wales and their 4-2 loss to Turkey last month. This weekend sees them head to a Montenegro side who have lost each of their last six internationals.

The hosts have lost 3-1 to Georgia and 2-1 to Wales in their last two home matches, so the pair can each play their part in an entertaining encounter.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Saturday – Sweden vs Slovakia

Sweden seem to have finally found the right balance between Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres up top, with their star-studded attack leading them to a 3-1 win in Azerbaijan and a 3-0 victory over Estonia in September.

Isak missed October’s matches, but Sweden scored five goals across that double-header. Sweden should produce another brilliant attacking display with Isak back to partner Gyokeres and Dejan Kulusevski. However, the visitors have scored in all four of their games in this Nations League campaign and in their previous 11 internationals.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
