Grand National 2023 predictions with 8/1 & 33/1 tips!

It’s the most widely known and biggest horse race of the year this weekend as the 2023 Grand National takes place at Aintree, with 40 runners to choose from with prices from as short as 8/1 all the way up to 100/1.
Obviously, it takes someone who knows what they’re talking about to separate the wheat from the chaff in such a large field so we’ve enlisted the help of horse racing afficionado Mark Whittle to guide us through his best picks for the race:
Ain’t That A Shame at 8/1
Boasts a similar profile to Henry de Bromhead’s 2021 Grand National winner, Minella Times and has shortened in price in the lead up to the race.
He’s a touch short on experience but is a very solid jumper who stays well over 3m. A progressive looking 9-year-old who has key experience in races with big fields.
He should run well on Saturday.
Back On The Lash at 33/1
A popular horse on the cross-country circuits and another that has started shortening in price.
The Aintree fences and race distance will hold no fears and he boasts very solid claims going from the front off a very light weight, as long as the course doesn’t get too wet.
A good one to back for the football fan, too, as his owner is none other than Harry Redknapp.
Escaria Ten at 100/1
Patchy form this season with connections opting to run him over all sorts of distances, which hasn’t helped his consistency.
He proved he can get around the course when finishing 9th in last year’s Grand National and a reproduction of that effort could see him hit the frame off a lighter weight this time around.
