Home Heroes Weekender: 34/1 Acca on 6 home wins this Easter weekend

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

With the international break about to wrap up, this coming weekend marks the beginning of the run-in. The final couple of months of the campaign have plenty on the line, starting with a packed Easter weekend of action from across the UK and Europe.

Ahead of the return of club football, I’ve picked out six home sides who can triumph this weekend. The sixfold is priced up at 34/1 with bet365, who are running a great new customer offer that you can take advantage of through the banner below.

Friday – Barnsley vs Cambridge United

Cambridge United are narrowly above the drop zone in League One having suffered six defeats from their last seven games. Their dismal form could get even worse on Friday, as they visit a Barnsley side who are on course for the playoffs.

The Tykes have had some mixed results of late, but this is a perfect chance to turn things around. They have won seven of nine meetings with the bottom five, including a 4-0 win at Cambridge earlier this season.

Friday – MK Dons vs Walsall

MK Dons are still in the mix for automatic promotion from League Two, with their push for the top three build on the best home record in the division. They’ve picked up 43 points from 20 games at home this season, which should concern a Walsall side who are in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The visitors have lost four of their five visits to League Two’s top six, so back MK Dons to build on their excellent record at Stadium MK.

Saturday – Eintracht Frankfurt vs Union Berlin

Union Berlin have fallen some distance from last season’s top-four finish, with the gulf in quality between them and the Bundesliga’s top sides clear. Union are 13th in the table, losing all nine meetings with the top six this season.

Sixth-placed Frankfurt were 3-0 winners over Union earlier this term and they have emerged victorious in four of their last six home league games. The hosts have won their last four home meetings with Union Berlin and that run should continue this weekend.

Saturday – Aston Villa vs Wolves

Villa have nine games remaining as they chase a place in the Champions League, starting with their home clash against Wolves. Unai Emery’s side are in a tight battle with Tottenham for fourth place, although fifth could well be enough based on how well English sides are doing in Europe.

Wolves have had a strong season but it does seem like they’re running out of steam. They lost at home to Coventry before the international break and key injuries to their attackers have really weakened them. Gary O’Neil saw his side beaten 3-0 at Newcastle in their last league trip and Villa should coast to a win.

Sunday – Celta Vigo vs Rayo Vallecano

Celta Vigo got a jolt from sacking Rafa Benitez, as they claimed a 2-1 victory over Sevilla to ease any relegation fears. They have a great chance to make it three wins in four, with Rayo Vallecano losing their last four away games.

Rayo are on a real slide, with the second-worst record in La Liga across the last eight rounds, suffering six defeats. Back Celta to take full advantage and secure the points.

Sunday – Man City vs Arsenal

Arsenal are on a roll right now, but the Etihad hasn’t been kind to them over the years. They’ve lost each of their last eight visits to City, last avoiding defeat against them back in May 2016 – months before Pep Guardiola arrived in the Premier League.

City have won 12 of the last 13 Premier League clashes between the pair, with Arsenal triumphing over a weakened City side earlier this term.

The champions are now back to full strength and they’ve won eight of their last nine at home, so back them to see off the Gunners.
