Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield meet in the Championship Play-Off Final on Sunday as the two sides battle it out for the last remaining place in next season’s Premier League.
The Terriers spent two years in the Premier League before being relegated in 2019 and are looking to end their three-year stay in the Championship, while Forest are bidding to secure a place among England’s elite for the first time since 1999.
Using our dedicated Championship play-off final match prediction, I’ve put together a huge 254/1 Ultimate Bet Builder with a few bold selections in this four-fold bet.
254/1 Huddersfield vs Nottingham Forest Ultimate Bet Builder
Harry Toffolo to score anytime
Huddersfield wing-back Harry Toffolo is a huge price to score considering his form going into Sunday’s fixture at Wembley. The 26-year-old finished the regular season with five goals in the final seven games. Toffolo was unable to add to his account in the semi-finals against Luton but he did make an impact going forward in both games, registering an assist in the first leg and taking two shots in the second, so he could well be the Terriers’ danger-man against Forest.
James Garner to assist anytime
James Garner shares the lead with Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel in terms of Nottingham Forest assists with 10 across all competitions, eight of which came in the Championship. However, Garner played in fewer games and created significantly more chances – 78 to Johnson’s 58 and Zinkernagel’s 33 – and he averages an impressive 1.63 chances created per 90 minutes. The 21-year-old arguably should have more assists to his name based on those statistics, and he can become Forest’s outright assist leader by setting up a team-mate on Sunday.
Joe Worrall to be shown a card
Huddersfield were one of the best behaved teams in the Championship this season as they averaged just 1.59 cards-per-game, while Forest were very much a mid-table team in that respect with an average of 1.91. The Terriers’ opponents received on average 2.15 cards-per-game so it makes sense to back a Forest player to pick up a card and Joe Worrall looks a good candidate.
The defender picked up 10 yellow cards in the Championship and he was booked in both legs of the semi-final against Sheffield United. Worrall averages 0.8 fouls per-game but over his last 15 that figure rises to 1.0, and he could find himself going into the referee’s notebook for a third successive match on Sunday.
Philip Zinkernagel to have one or more shots on target
This is the shortest price selection on this Ultimate Bet Builder and one or more shots on target for Forest attacking midfielder Philip Zinkernagel has real appeal here. The 27-year-old Dane is averaging an impressive 2.0 shots-per-game this season and 0.7 of those are on target. Zinkernagel has only failed to shoot in two of his last 15 games, trying his luck 34 times in total during that run, so he should be able to test the keeper at least once at Wembley.
