In The Mixer: 847/1 European acca from our experts
Sports Journalist at FST, Gareth qualified as a journalist after graduating from university and spent over a decade as a freelance broadcast journalist, commentator and tipster before joining FST. Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.
In The Mixer is FST’s weekly column where we catch up with our team of football betting experts and get their opinion on the hot topic of the week.
The group stages in the three European competitions come into focus this week as the penultimate round of group stage fixtures take place across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. With plenty of games to go at, we asked our team of experts for their best midweek bets – excluding games with British sides – and the result is this huge 847/1 sixfold.
The full six-game bet starts at 8pm on Tuesday, and I’ve also put together a more modest 50/1 fourfold that starts with one of the two 5.45pm games on Wednesday.

(Tues) Barcelona vs Porto – Porto to win at 6/1 with bet365
Barcelona were awful when losing 1-0 to Shakhtar on matchday four and that followed a 2-1 La Liga defeat to Real Madrid. Barca were held to a 1-1 draw at Rayo at the weekend and I can’t have the Spanish side anywhere near 4-9 chances against Porto.
Xavi’s side have scored only eight goals in their last seven matches and that looks like another reason to avoid taking a short price.
Barcelona did win the reverse fixture 1-0 at the Estadio do Dragao, but there was little between the teams on that occasion, and at 6/1, Porto look a great bet to turn the tables.

(Tues) Feyenoord vs Atletico Madrid – Feyenoord to win at 31/20 with bet365
Feyenoord were incredibly unlucky to fall to a 3-2 defeat in Madrid when they first faced Atletico and at around 13/8 they look good value to make the most of home advantage when the pair meet again on Tuesday.
The Dutch champions actually dominated the reverse fixture, enjoying more possession and creating more chances, and they’ve been excellent at De Kuip this term. Feyenoord overcame Lazio 3-1 in their last European fixture in Rotterdam and can overpower an Atleti side who have drawn both of their group stage trips so far.

(Weds) Benfica vs Inter Milan – Inter to win at 17/10 with bet365
Inter Milan have already guaranteed their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League but they are still battling with Real Sociedad for top spot in Group D and won’t let up when they head to rock-bottom Benfica on Wednesday.
The Nerazzurri are on a six-game winning streak across all competitions heading into the clash at Estadio da Luz, while they haven’t tasted defeat away from home in seven assignments this season.
Benfica have lost all four European matches this term, scoring just once and conceding seven, and their hopes of finishing third and dropping into the Europa League are hanging by a thread.

(Weds) Sevilla vs PSV – PSV to with at 13/8 with bet365
Sevilla may have a proven track record in Europe but that has not been at Champions League level and they look worth taking on when they host PSV. The only victory Los Nervionenses have recorded in their last 11 games came against fifth-tier Quintanar in the Copa del Rey.
The Eredivisie leaders, who host Arsenal in their last group game, are on a 12-match unbeaten streak, winning their last five in all competitions and are tempting at around 13-8 to keep the run going.

(Thurs) Sparta Prague vs Real Betis – Betis to win at 7/4 with bet365
Real Betis are setting the pace in Group C in the Europa League and look overpriced to win away to Sparta Prague on Thursday.
Betis have won three of their four group-stage fixtures, including a 2-1 victory over Sparta Prague in Andalusia at the start of October, and they can do the double over their Czech counterparts.
Sparta have won only one of their four fixtures in the competition and even that was a hard-fought 3-2 win over Aris Limassol on matchday one and the Epet Arena has not been as much of a fortress as expected in the competition.

(Thurs) Sheriff Tiraspol vs Slavia Prague – Slavia to win to nil at 13/8 with bet365
Slavia Prague are currently top of their Europa League section, level on nine points with 2023 finalists Roma, and should have no issues in securing the win they need to confirm qualification for the knockout stage against a Sheriff side who have taken just one point from their four Group G games to date.
The visitors’ three wins have all come to nil, while the side from Tiraspol have managed just three goals in their four group games so far.
The reverse fixture saw an easy 6-0 win for Thursday’s away side and a similarly comfortable win alongside a clean sheet looks likely for Slavia, who rate a far stronger team than Sheriff.
Take the side from Prague to win to nil.
