Ipswich v Southampton Ultimate Bet Builder
Adam Armstrong to score
The Saints have had Adam Armstrong leading their promotion charge, with the forward scoring 19 goals in the Championship this term. The Southampton forward has scored in three straight games, scoring their only goal in Friday’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
The striker has notched seven times on the road for the Saints this season and he can continue his fine form with a goal at Portman Road. He’s been thriving playing through the middle of late and the striker should to a record of 10 goals in 14 games when playing through the middle.
Leif Davis to make an assist
Left-back Leif Davis has been an important part of Ipswich’s back-to-back promotion chase. The defender has scored only once this term, but he has laid on plenty of chances for his teammates. The full-back has spent basically all of the campaign playing as a left-back in a back four and he’s recorded a league-leading 15 assists.
Of those assists, nine have come at Portman Road. The full-back has set up three goals across his last four appearances, including teeing up Ipswich’s winner on Friday. He’s great value for an assist in this clash.
Flynn Downes to be carded
We could see a fiery affair as these two sides continue their promotion chase and the pair split four bookings when they met on the South coast. Southampton midfielder Flynn Downes heads into this contest having been booked on eight occasions this term, while he was booked 13 times across his three seasons at Ipswich between 2017 and 2021.
Downes was booked 10 times for Swansea during his last full season at this level and he’s on course to at least match that, having picked up three bookings across his last seven league games.
Massimo Luongo to be carded
Luongo was booked for the ninth time this season in Ipswich’s win over Blackburn and the midfielder is a great bet for another card this week. He has five bookings at Portman Road this term and the midfielder averages 1.5 fouls per game this term, so Luongo to be booked rounds out our bet builder tip.
