When are the four 2025 golf Majors?
The four golf Majors take place on the following dates:
- The Masters – Augusta National Golf Course, 10-13 April, 2025
- US PGA Championship – Quail Hollow Club, 15-18 May, 2025
- US Open – Oakmont Country Club, 12-15 June, 2025
- The Open – Royal Portrush Golf Club, 17-20 July, 2025

The Masters winner prediction: Justin Thomas at 25/1
Scottie Scheffler is a warm favourite for the Masters but Justin Thomas is showing signs of getting back to his very best and the two-time US PGA champion could be the man to push the world number one all the way in the first Major of the year.
Thomas has struggled in his last two Masters starts – no surprise given the downturn in his form generally – but he ended 2024 by finishing second and third in his last two events. He’s well suited to Augusta, where his approach play and scrambling ability are huge assets.
US PGA Championship winner prediction: Rory McIlroy at 8/1
Rory McIlroy blew a golden chance to end his Major hoodoo at the 2024 US Open, bogeying three of his last four holes to lose by a shot to Bryson DeChambeau, but he will be relishing the chance to compete in the US PGA Championship at his beloved Quail Hollow Club.
McIlroy’s first PGA Tour title came at the Charlotte venue in 2010 and he’s gone on to win the Wells Fargo Championship at the course on a further three occasions. He is comfortable at Quail Hollow and looks an obvious title threat if he can hold it together mentally.
US Open winner prediction: Scottie Scheffler at 9/2
It’s impossible to leave Scottie Scheffler out of a Majors fourfold and while the Masters is his favourite hunting ground, it’s only a matter of time before the world’s best golfer wins one of the other three Majors.
Scheffler can start with the US Open at Oakmont, a venue which holds a special place in his heart as he made his Major debut there in 2016 when still an amateur, showcasing his talent with an opening 69 before going on to miss the cut.
A runner-up in 2022 and third in 2023, the exacting test which the US Open usually provides should prove to be ideal for such a marvellous ball-striker.
The Open winner prediction: Tommy Fleetwood at 25/1
Irish hero Shane Lowry mastered the links of Royal Portrush in 2019 but this time it could be the turn of the man who finished runner-up that year, Tommy Fleetwood, as he bids to win a first Major.
While he doesn’t win anywhere near as often as he should, the Southport man is one of the best exponents of links golf in the world, finishing in the top 12 in four of the last six Opens. Expect him to make another bold run at the Claret Jug come July.
There are a few points to consider before placing this bet. Bookmakers will not allow you to pick a player multiple times – for example, if you put McIlroy in your acca for the Masters, he cannot be used for any of the other three Majors. However, five of the last six seasons have passed without multiple Major champions – Xander Schauffele won both the US PGA Championship and the Open last year – so the acca wager is worth risking. Punters should also be aware of maximum payout restrictions and decide on their stake accordingly.
