League One predictions and best bets

Burton Albion vs Crewe

FST predicts: Crewe to win

Crewe came from two goals down to beat Swindon 4-2 in midweek and will carry that confidence in to this clash. Burton are third from bottom in League One and have lost four of their last six home league games.

Crewe, meanwhile, have won three of their last five in League One and all their defeats this season have come against sides above them in the table.

Oxford United vs Hull

FST predicts: Hull to win

Hull’s last away game was a 3-0 thrashing of Ipswich and they can get another three points against an Oxford United side struggling to recover after a slow start to the League One campaign.

The hosts are without a victory in four home games in all competitions and have lost three of them, while Hull come into this match riding the crest of a four match winning streak in the league.

Plymouth vs Ipswich

FST predicts: Plymouth to win

Plymouth had a terrible evening in midweek as they were thrashed by Rochdale, but they can bounce back here against an out-of-form Ipswich side who have taken just one point from their last three games.

The visitors have lost four of their last five trips away in all competitions and Plymouth managed an excellent 2-0 victory over Lincoln City in the FA Cup last weekend.

Portsmouth vs Peterborough

FST predicts: Portsmouth to win

Portsmouth will welcome 2,000 fans back to Fratton Park on Saturday and this could be the deciding factor against promotion rivals Peterborough.

The visitors have lost four of their last five games in all competitions and, while Portsmouth did lose in midweek, they are unbeaten in three home games and have won two of those.

Rochdale vs Lincoln City

FST predicts: Lincoln City to win

Rochdale may have put in a storming display at Plymouth in midweek but inconsistency has been their downfall this season. They have lost four of their last six in all competitions and are without a win in seven home games.

Lincoln City, meanwhile, have won their last two in the league and head into this weekend just four points adrift of League One leaders Hull.

Shrewsbury vs Charlton

FST predicts: Charlton to win

Charlton have proved to be excellent on the road this season, winning six away games in all competitions and losing just one of their last six. They can recover from a poor midweek showing at Shrewsbury on Saturday.

The Shrews can be difficult to beat, but they come into this game winless in nine League One matches and they haven’t won a home league match since February.
