Ligue 1 2024/25 outright predictions with 12/1 top scorer tip

Ligue 1 without PSG – Marseille at 7/2
After seven terrific seasons at the club, Kylian Mbappe parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain this summer but the French giants are still expected to come out on top in Ligue 1.
PSG reeled off their third successive top-flight title in France last term and that was also their sixth title triumph in the last seven campaigns.
The hope in France is that Mbappe’s departure will make for a more even playing field but the star’s departure to Real Madrid was not exactly a shock and Luis Enrique had already started to reshape his squad.
The likes of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembele and promising winger Bradley Barcola still remain and it is hard to see past them winning another title.
But the club who could get closest to them are Marseille, who are worth a bet to win Ligue 1 without PSG.
Last season was turbulent for Marseille, who finished eighth in the Ligue 1 standings but they look in good hands under new boss Roberto De Zerbi, who impressed at Brighton.
They do not have the distraction of European football and have invested heavily over the summer, bringing in the likes of Ismael Kone, Mason Greenwood and Bamo Meite on permanent deals as well as Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on loan.
Monaco finished second last term but have since lost top scorer Wissam Ben Yedder after his contract expired and Marseille are a better pick to win the league without PSG.
Ligue 1 top 3 finish – Lyon at 7/2
Another club who could be in for a good season are Lyon, who are a value bet to make the top three.
It really was a season of two halves for Les Gones last term as they went from being bottom in December to making the European places after 15 wins from 20 games.
It was Pierre Sage who masterminded that turnaround and he has been backed in the transfer market with Said Benrahma, Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate all arriving from the Premier League.
Georges Mikatuadze has been snapped up from Metz, while 20-year-old Ghanaian Ernest Nuamah has also been drafted in from Molenbeek for big money.
Beyond their new additions, Lyon have a decent core of players including Corentin Tolisso, Maxence Caqueret and talismanic forward Alexandre Lacazette, so expect them to go well.
Ligue 1 top goalscorer – Georges Mikautadze at 12/1
Key to their success could be the goals of new signing Mikatuadze, who bagged 13 goals in Ligue 1 last term despite his club Metz getting relegated.
He has since jumped ship and, after scoring three goals in an excellent Euro 2024 campaign with Georgia, he could go from strength to strength for his new club.
His team-mate Lacazette will naturally be in contention to be top scorer in the league this term but Mikautadze averaged a goal every 135 minutes in the French top flight last season and could represent each-way value in the top scorer market.
