62/1 Correct Score Double winner headlines an incredible Wednesday
It was only nine days ago that Aaron Rogan landed a huge 122/1 Correct Score Double, and this week it was my time to shine as I picked out a 2-1 Liverpool win and a 1-1 draw in Villarreal vs Rayo Vallecano.
The Carabao Cup quarter-final on the south coast was the first to kick-off and things didn’t look promising as Liverpool raced to a 2-0 lead in the first 35 minutes.
Fortunately for us, the Reds seemed satisfied with just a couple of goals and a Cameron Archer consolation half an hour from time wrapped up that leg.
Over in Spain, Rayo Vallecano took a first-half lead before Ayoze Perez levelled the scores on the bring of half-time, but an earlier red card for the hosts ensured this would be a cagey affair. That proved to be the case and we were left celebrating a terrific winner.
But that wasn’t all the success we tasted on Wednesday…
Late goal on Tyneside rescues 16/1 Carabao Cup Treble
With three of the four Carabao Cup quarter-finals taking place on Wednesday, it would be rude not to combine our tips for each game into a treble, and it proved a fruitful decision.
Here were our selections:
- Arsenal to win & over 2.5 goals (vs Crystal Palace)
- Newcastle to win & both teams to score (vs Brentford)
- Liverpool to win & under 3.5 goals (vs Southampton)
And the results:
- Arsenal 3-2 Crystal Palace
- Newcastle 3-1 Brentford
- Southampton 1-2 Liverpool
Arsenal went behind inside four minutes, but with home advantage on their side this actually boosted our hopes of landing the first leg, and our thoughts were confirmed in the second half as Gabriel Jesus bagged a hat-trick in the space of 27 minutes to pretty much seal the deal. A late goal from former-Gunner Eddie Nketiah threw the cat among the pigeons, but ultimately our first leg landed and we could focus our attentions on a nervy ending on Tyneside.
Newcastle were 2-0 up before the break against Brentford and confirmed their passage to the final four with a Fabian Schar goal in the second half, but we were still waiting on a Bees consolation, and they made us wait a very long time.
Eventually, Yoane Wissa popped up with a 91st-minute goal to seal our second leg, and we already know what went down on the south coast from our incredible Correct Score Double winner!
European action brings in 14/1 Accumulator winner
It wasn’t all about the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, though, as our main accumulator tip focused on proceedings on the continent with the below selections:
- Both teams to score in Racing Ferrol vs Almeria
- PSG to win at Monaco
- Malaga to win vs Eldense
- Rayo Vallecano double chance at Villarreal
And the results:
- Racing Ferrol 1-4 Almeria
- Monaco 2-4 PSG
- Malaga 3-0 Eldense
- Villarreal 1-1 Rayo Vallecano
A Spanish Segunda Division clash in Ferrol was our early kick-off at 6pm and by the 48th-minute we had already ticked off our both teams to score leg, although Almeria weren’t satisfied with the 1-1 scoreline at that point and went on to score three goals in 12 minutes to thrash the hosts.
We had to wait until 8pm for the next leg to get underway, and once again it was a bright start as PSG went ahead in the first half. Our celebrations were cut short in the second half, though, as Monaco rallied to overturn the deficit with two goals in a seven-minute span, but PSG responded magnificently to bag a treble in the final half an hour.
Our second Segunda Division leg ran much more smoothly, thankfully, as Malaga went 2-0 up inside 30 minutes against Eldense, and Villarreal’s early red card against Rayo Vallecano helped secure the visitors a point and us our third big win of the night!
Four more winners boost the profits
Incredibly, our evening of winners didn’t end there. Newcastle’s win against Brentford, combined with Atalanta’s 6-1 thrashing of Cesena, landed our 15/2 BTTS & Win double, and that duo along with the result in Ferrol secured a 5/1 BTTS treble, too!
Arsenal’s second-half treble and a 4-1 win for Roma against Sampdoria saw a 3/1 Goals Galore Double land, and the eight 180s in Nathan Aspinall vs Leonard Gates secured a PDC Darts World Championship Best Bet for the third time in four days!
