Spain to score first vs Germany
Spain surprisingly fell behind against Georgia, but they won each of their group-stage matches to nil. They meet a German side that fell behind to Switzerland in the group stage, while they needed VAR to intervene to prevent Denmark taking the lead in the last round.
Spain have grown into this tournament, looking more composed at the back and better in possession as the games have gone on. While Germany have made a strong start, their issues seem clearer and as a result Spain to score first stands out in this one.
France to score first vs Portugal
France have yet to concede from open play at Euro 2024, with Mike Maignan in fantastic form. The French have scored the opening goal in three of their first four matches, while they meet a Portuguese side that fell behind in their opener and failed to score against Slovenia.
While Portugal continue to work around Ronaldo’s presence, the French have one of the best attacking line-ups in the tournament. Portugal’s players have only managed three goals so far between them and they’ve gone over 200 minutes without a goal. Back the French to strike first in Hamburg.
Switzerland to score first vs England
England have been prone to passive spells and they’ve started poorly in each of their last two games. Slovakia caught them on the hop in the last 16 and their quarter-final clash with Switzerland is their toughest test of the tournament so far.
The Swiss have scored within 40 minutes in each of their games at the Euros so far, netting seven goals across their four outings. With England scoring three times within 90 minutes, Switzerland look primed to catch out the Three Lions early on.
Turkey to score first vs Netherlands
The Dutch have scored first in just one of their first four games at Euro 2024, with that coming against a Romania side who appeared out of their depth in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Turkey struck within a minute in their last match and they’ve scored first in three of their four games in Germany. The huge fanbase following them at this tournament surely helps Turkey start well, while the Dutch conceded to Poland after 16 minutes and they were behind to Austria after just six.
