Bournemouth vs Liverpool
Best bet – Cody Gakpo over 2.5 shots
Bournemouth were thrashed 9-0 at Anfield in August and their defenders could be in for another tough afternoon as they host a Liverpool side fresh from a resounding 7-0 drubbing of arch-rivals Manchester United.
One player who wasn’t able to terrorise the Cherries’ defence in August is January signing Cody Gakpo, but the youngster could make up for lost time in Saturday’s early kick-off.
He scored two of Liverpool’s first three goals against United to make it four goals in his last four Premier League starts and he is worth backing to have three or more shots on the south coast.
Even before his current scoring streak, Gakpo had seven shots on goal in a goalless draw with Chelsea in January and averaged 3.6 shots per game in the Eredivisie before his mid-season move.
Leicester vs Chelsea
Best bet – Joao Felix to score first
Sticking with the theme of January signings, Joao Felix is a good bet to open the scoring at Leicester.
There is a distinct lack of in-form attackers on show at the King Power Stadium, with the Foxes failing to score in six of their last ten league games and Chelsea struggling for form.
However, Felix has sharpened up the Blues’ front line. He scored four times in seven La Liga starts before his move to London and managed six shots in 58 minutes before his debut red card.
Felix looks a danger every time he is on the ball and, with the lack of competition in the goals department, he looks a big price.
Leeds vs Brighton
Best bet – Weston McKennie to be booked
Brighton’s last three Premier League games have featured yellow cards for opposition midfielders, with six midfielders being booked in these games, and Weston McKennie looks a great price to be the seventh on that list.
The January signing – yes, another one – has been booked three times in five Premier League starts since arriving from January and the slick football of the Seagulls should put the Leeds man under more pressure.
Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest
Best bet – Joe Worrall to be booked first
Tottenham fans will be demanding a response to their dismal midweek Champions League exit and even the lacklustre Spurs should be able to threaten poor travellers Nottingham Forest.
Forest centre back Joe Worrall has been booked six times in 20 Premier League appearances this season and, intriguingly, three of those cards came in the first 20 minutes of games.
He was booked in their home defeat to Spurs and could find himself the first name in Craig Pawson’s notebook on Saturday.
