Premier League 2024/25 outright wrap up with 14/1, 6/1 & 5/1 tips

The Premier League starts today as Manchester United entertain Fulham at Old Trafford and we conclude our build-up for the new season with a delve into a few of the niche markets on offer.

If you’re looking for straightforward outright and relegation tips take a look at our season hub – but first read on to see who I think could be propping up the table at Christmas and who could finish as the league’s assist king.

Ipswich To Be Bottom at Xmas – 5/1

This is my personal favourite of these selections as it is easy to see Ipswich sitting at the foot of the division over the festive period. Leicester are favourites for the drop and to be bottom at Xmas at 6/5 – but any potential points deduction probably won’t happen until the second half of the season, according to reports in the Telegraph among others, so that probably won’t impact on their league position at this point. The other promoted sides, Saints and the Foxes, have recent Premier League experience and that should stand them in good stead, but Ipswich have come up two divisions in two seasons and this could be a step too far – so 5/1 to be in last place at Christmas looks very backable.

Bruno Fernandes Most Assists – 14/1

Kevin De Bruyne is the 5/2 market leader when it comes to most assists and that should come as no surprise. The Belgian magician had 10 in just 18 Premier League games last season and is playing alongside some of the world’s best forwards so he should be there or thereabouts.

However, De Bruyne could be rotated out of the City team over the course of the season as his position as a guaranteed starter is under threat. Pep Guardiola may also want to protect the 33-year-old from too much action during Champions League weeks after an injury-hit campaign last term so at a juicier 14/1 Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is worth a mention.

Fernandes had a modest eight assists last season but he created more chances than any other Premier League player last season. The fact that didn’t translate into more assists was perhaps in part due to the poor finishing of the Manchester United attackers, and we can probably expect a better return this year following the capture of Joshua Zrikzee from Bologna, while it wouldn’t be a surprise to see improved performances over the course of the season from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund either.

Admittedly, it will be a big ask from Fernandes but 14/1 does look a big price – while there is also the option of 5/1 on 15 or more assists for the Portugal international if you are feeling a little more cautious.

3 – Number Of Promoted Clubs To Be Relegated – 6/1

Our experts have tipped two of the promoted teams to drop straight back down to the Championship and bet365 are offering 11/8 for any of the two to go down, but personally I think the bigger price on all three to get relegated is worth a small stake. The three promoted teams went straight back down last season and Leicester, Saints and Ipswich are all likely to be among the strugglers, so taking a chance at 6/1 on all three to go back down appeals.
