Following on from our Premier League outright winner prediction, our season of outright tips continues as we focus on another couple of areas of the table.

Today, we look at the battle for the European positions and the fight to remain in the division.

Premier League top 4 prediction – Manchester United at 2/1

Manchester United were awful at times last season, but there is reason to believe they could make a recovery in 2024/25 and they look a decent price to make the top four.

The Red Devils finished eight points adrift of the Champions League qualification spots, but that was only the second time in five seasons they have failed to make the top four and there were some viable reasons.

Erik ten Hag was rightly criticised, but it is undeniable that they had a rough ride with injuries last term, a statement illustrated by the previously-exiled Harry Maguire and last-minute free signing Jonny Evans being the two centre backs with the most gametime for Manchester United.

Additionally, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made his presence known already and the signings of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee are more in line with what we used to see at Old Trafford, although the former of those two has already been injured.

It is unlikely that Marcus Rashford has another season as ineffectual as the last which, combined with a lack of Champions League distractions and an almost certain improvement in the injury situation, makes 2/1 for a top-four berth look attractive.

As for their competitors, the top two look wrapped up by Arsenal and Manchester City, but Chelsea have the largely-unproven Enzo Maresca at the helm and Liverpool may have a season of transition following Jurgen Klopp’s departure.

Premier League relegation prediction – Ipswich, Leicester & Nottingham Forest to be relegated at 10/1

Ipswich did fantastically to achieve promotion last season, but it may be a short stay in the Premier League for Kieran McKenna’s men.

The young manager has surpassed expectations to take the Tractor Boys from League One to the top flight in just two-and-a-half seasons, but their squad is not up to standard and, like Luton before them, a return to the Championship looks like their destiny.

Championship winners Leicester are actually the favourites for the drop after losing promotion-winning boss Enzo Maresca and star player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Both will be huge losses for the Foxes, who may find their confidence sapped by an early run which includes meetings with Spurs, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

Steve Cooper may not last the term if this comes to fruition, and his Leicester side may be joined in the second tier by another former employer in Nottingham Forest.

The Tricky Trees earned a meagre 36 points last season and Nuno Espirito Santo guided them to just six wins from 21 Premier League attempts. It has been another season of heavy turnover at the City Ground, and that approach has not quite worked for the club in recent years.
