Road Warriors Long Haul: 26/1 away wins acca for this weekend
Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
The international break is almost wrapped up and now focus is turning to club action this weekend. We’ve had a few weeks of form to process and that’s left six standout away sides that look good for the points this weekend.
With a quiet midweek in store, this week’s Long Haul features three games apiece from Saturday and Sunday and you can see our Road Warriors six-fold below!

Road Warriors Long Haul Accumulator Tip
Saturday – Manchester United to win at Southampton
Manchester United have been left to mull over their 3-0 loss to Liverpool for almost two weeks, but Saturday offers a chance to bounce back. Southampton have nothing to show for their first three games back in the Premier League, with Russell Martin’s side looking weak at both ends of the pitch.
The Saints’ display against 10-man Newcastle in their opener has shielded them from criticism in the early weeks of the season. While United have issues mounting yet again, they should have little trouble taking apart a Southampton side who concede too many chances and miss too many of their own.
Saturday – Sunderland to win at Plymouth
Sunderland have made a dream start under Regis Le Bris, winning all four of their Championship games this season. The Black Cats conceded their first league goal of the campaign in added time when 3-0 up in their last game, so they’ve been brilliant at both ends of the pitch.
Le Bris has injected energy into a side that dramatically fell off in the back half of last season. The Frenchman takes his charges to Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth this weekend, with Argyle losing their last two games to nil. Take the Black Cats to continue a phenomenal start.
Saturday – Juventus to win at Empoli
Empoli are unbeaten through three games in Serie A this term, but Saturday’s visit of Juventus represents their biggest test to date. Thiago Motta has revolutionised the Old Lady after they struggled to keep up under Max Allegri.
Motta oversaw 3-0 wins in his first two games before a 0-0 draw with Roma. Their defensive setup was the biggest concern in the transition to a new style, as Juve have plenty of proven options up top. Expect their excellent start to continue with three points away to Empoli.
Sunday – Rangers to win at Dundee United
It’s hard to make a case for Rangers challenging for the title after they were dismantled 3-0 by Celtic last week, but the Gers can return to form in Sunday’s trip to Dundee United.
The hosts’ unbeaten start is in jeopardy having lost their last four meetings with Rangers. The Gers are chasing a first win of the season on the road, but they picked up 12 victories in 19 away trips last term. Expect the newly promoted hosts to be out of their depth against Rangers once again.
Sunday – Arsenal to win at Tottenham
Dropping points at home to Brighton was a real setback for Arsenal just a week after a statement victory at Aston Villa. The Gunners will hope to set things right on Sunday in a visit to an out-of-sorts Tottenham side.
Spurs have four points to show for their first three games but the manner in which they eased off at Leicester and Newcastle is a concern. Something seems off with Ange Postecoglou’s side, so back a win for an Arsenal side who have won their last five league trips.
Sunday – Barcelona to win at Girona
Barcelona have won each of their first four La Liga games and they can make it five from five at Girona. The Catalans did get some fortunate breaks across their three successive 2-1 wins, but a 7-0 thumping to Real Valladolid last time out can’t be ignored.
Girona have straightened their form after a 3-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, but they were expected to take maximum points against Osasuna and Sevilla. This trip is a much bigger test and the hosts are firmly in transition following their summer departures, so back Barca’s great start to continue.
