Texas Open & LIV Orlando tips with 360/1 winners double

The Texas Open takes place on the PGA Tour this week and LIV Golf heads to Orlando, and we’ve recruited Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer for his tips ahead of the two events.

This week his selections combine for a 360/1 double, which as always he recommends backing as an each-way bet.

360/1 Texas Open & LIV Orlando double tip

Golf punters have two tournaments to consider this week – the last each-way double possibility before the Masters takes centre stage next week.

Augusta is on the minds of both players and punters alike, but this week’s 360/1 each-way double on Rickie Fowler and Charles Howell should keep you entertained while we await the start of the next Major.

Fowler needs to win the Texas Open to earn a spot at Augusta – and the former world number four has the form and self-belief to do just that.

The Californian has won much bigger tournaments than this, including the Players Championship at Sawgrass in 2015, and super-coach Butch Harmon has got his pupil buzzing again.

Fowler finished second in the Zozo Championship in the middle of October and has posted five top-20s in his last eight strokeplay events.

Last week in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, Fowler beat Jon Rahm and Keith Mitchell in the group stages, losing only to former Match Play champion Billy Horschel. The career of Fowler is massively on the up again at the age of 34 and he has nobody to fear in the Texas Open line-up at TPC San Antonio.

Fowler at 18/1 can be paired with another 18/1 chance to form the 360/1 double.

Nobody on the LIV Golf circuit has started the season more impressively than Howell, who won LIV Mayakoba by four shots, then finished fifth in LIV Tucson.

His comfort levels this week are enormous as the circuit moves to Orlando, which has been his home for more than 20 years.

Howell knows the Crooked Cat course better than most of his rivals and can hit the ground running.

With Cameron Smith reportedly labouring with a niggling wrist injury, Howell may continue his dominance on the controversial breakaway tour.
