The Long Haul: 56/1 BTTS home wins accumulator for this week!
Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
Top flight action across Europe is interrupted by the first international break of the season this week as the Nations League 2024/25 gets underway on Thursday.
I’ve poured over this week’s fixtures to pick out two home win bets each day from Thursday to Saturday. You can see the 56/1 tip below, which was picked out with bet365. New bet365 customers can also take advantage of this great offer below!
Nations League Home Wins Long Haul Accumulator
Thursday
Scotland vs Poland
Scotland had a tough summer in Germany, but returning to Hampden Park is key for them. Steve Clarke’s side claimed 10 points from four home qualifiers, including wins over Spain and Georgia, to book their place at the Euros.
Poland nearly missed out on the Euros after away defeats to the Czech Republic, Moldova and Albania in qualifying. They tend to do their best work at home, so take Scotland to restore some belief with a victory.
Northern Ireland vs Luxembourg
Northern Ireland finished 2023 with a home win over Denmark and 2024 has brought renewed optimism. A 5-1 loss to Spain ahead of the Euros can be excused, with Michael O’Neill’s side picking up wins over Scotland and Andorra alongside a draw in Romania.
O’Neill needs to get his side back to their best at home as they look to return to contention for major tournaments. Back that to start with a victory on Thursday, as NI are well priced to dispatch a Luxembourg side who have lost all three of their away games in 2024.
Friday
Slovenia vs Austria
Slovenia exited Euro 2024 without losing any of their games within 90 minutes. They booked their place at the tournament with strong home form, taking 13 points from five home qualifiers.
Austria have lost four of their last five Nations League games and they look vulnerable away to a capable Slovenia side.
France vs Italy
Italy are a work in progress under coach Luciano Spalletti but this visit to France has come far too soon for them. They toiled against Spain and Croatia before losing to Switzerland in the last 16, so little is expected from them in Paris.
The French made the semis at Euro 2024 and the 2021 Nations League winners should prove too strong at home.
Saturday
Germany vs Hungary
After a few tough years, Germany roared back in their home Euros this summer. Keeping Julian Nagelsmann at the helm is a huge boost for the side that pushed eventual champions Spain closer than anyone else.
Hungary underwhelmed at Euro 2024, exiting at the group stage. They were beaten 2-0 by Germany at the tournament, with Nagelsmann’s team gaining revenge for a Nations League loss in 2022. Back them to see off Hungary once again.
Greece vs Finland
Greece comfortably topped their group in the last Nations League campaign, winning five of their six matches. Comfortable home wins over Cyprus, Kosovo and Northern Ireland helped them step up a level, where they cross paths with Finland.
The Finns missed out on Euro 2024 largely thanks to away defeats. They were beaten in Denmark and Slovenia in their group before a playoff defeat in Wales. Two of their last three Nations League trips have also ended in defeat, so back a Greek victory.
