Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Club Brugge showed enough in a 3-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund to suggest they can trouble another European giant this time around. The Belgian side racked up 1.2 expected goals in that defeat and could have enough to find the net against a Milan side who have kept just three clean sheets in their last nine home games.

AC Milan 2-1

Reason for tip

While Brugge may have enough to score, a win may still prove beyond them. AC Milan have won three of their last four home games and Brugge’s woeful record of zero wins from their last 11 meetings with Italian sides will be weighing heavily on their shoulders.

AC Milan vs Club Brugge Predictions

  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in six of AC Milan’s ten games this season
  • Club Brugge are unbeaten in five away games
  • The Belgian side are winless in 11 games against Italian opposition, with their last victory coming against AC Milan in 2003

San Siro set for exciting encounter

Despite losing their opening two Champions League games and sitting fifth-bottom in the 36-team table, AC Milan will come into Tuesday’s clash with Club Brugge as strong favourites.

The Rossoneri lost to Liverpool in their opener before a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, but given those sides are two of the potential contedners for the trophy, they should fare better against lesser opposition this time around.

Paulo Fonseca seems to be getting a tune out of his side at home, with Milan netting 11 goals in their five matches at San Siro this term, and he will be looking to put Brugge to the sword on Tuesday.

Brugge bound to play their part in Milan

However, while Club Brugge have endured a tricky start to their league season, taking just 18 points from their opening 11 games, their performances in the Champions League have been encouraging.

Despite losing 3-0, the Belgian side racked up a respectable 1.2 expected goals against Borussia Dortmund in their opener, before beating Sturm Graz 1-0 last time.

Brugge are not the strongest outfit, but up against a team who have seen both sides score in six of their 10 games this season and have managed just three clean sheets in their last nine home matches, they should be backed to find the net alongside their hosts at San Siro.
