Aek Athens vs Leicester City Predictions
- Leicester won each of their last three away matches.
- The Foxes kept just two clean sheets in their last seven fixtures.
- City are averaging 2.2 goals per 90 minutes this term.
Win but no clean sheet for Leicester
Powered by back-to-back victories over Zorya and Arsenal in the Europa and Premier League respectively, Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City have been building a head of steam of late, and the Foxes chances of pushing their winning streak to three matches against AEK Athens this week look good.
Leicester have been a potent force on the road this term, and having won each of their first three away tests on the bounce since the summer, a fourth triumph on their travels at Athens’ expense looks possible.
City have lingering defensive issues to sort out however, and their record of keeping just two clean sheets in their last seven games hints that a consolation effort could be on offer for their Greek hosts.
Athens failed to score just once in their last 14 assignments on their own patch, and the consistency they’ve shown at home in the final third makes them a threat on Thursday. However, the Kitrinómavri looked sub-par in their 3-0 reverse at Sporting Braga in their first UEL outing last Thursday, and little more than a token effort should be expected from them.
For those reasons, the Leicester win and both teams to score combination is advised for Thursday’s Group G clash, while a 2-1 victory for the Foxes – who are averaging 2.2 goals per 90 minutes this season – is also favoured for our correct score prediction.
