Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

While both teams have scored in seven of Alaves’ last eight games, Celta Vigo have kept just one away clean sheet in their nine league games this season, six of which have seen both teams score.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Alaves have had a couple of 2-2 draws lately, against Osasuna and Valencia, while conceding at least twice in four of their last eight in the league. Celta Vigo have conceded at least twice in four successive matches, while also scoring two or more in six of their last ten, with two of those games finishing 2-2 at the 90 minute mark.

Alaves vs Celta Vigo Predictions

  • Seven of Alaves’ last eight outings have seen both teams score
  • Both teams have also netted in four successive Celta Vigo games
  • Alaves have kept one clean sheet in their last six at home

Alaves needing points

A 3-1 victory at Real Betis last weekend could not have been more welcome for Alaves, who head into this weekend sitting just one point outside of the bottom three.

Their defence is a real worry, managing just two clean sheets across their last 18 outings, and one of them was against minnows Compostela in the Copa del Rey.

Indeed, Babazorros have seen both teams score in seven of their last eight fixtures, which shows they know where the back of the net is, as does the fact that no other side in the bottom six has netted more than their 24 goals.

Celta struggling

They take on a Celta side who are now winless in three games, conceding six goals in the process (plus a further three in a 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid, a Copa del Rey fixture that was 2-2 after 90 minutes).

The Sky Blues are particularly struggling on the road, where they have kept just one clean sheet in nine attempts, with that 1-0 success at Las Palmas also their only away league victory this season.

Six of those clashes have seen both teams score, as have their last four fixtures across all competitions.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, with 2-2 my correct score prediction.
