Alloa have steadied the ship

Alloa Athletic boss Barry Ferguson was a man that Celtic fans absolutely loved to hate but he has managed to get things under control as they’ve put an end to a three-match losing streak via two consecutive draws. Despite that, the Wasps have secured just one victory across their last 10 matches and that result came against Lowland League outfit Bonnyrigg Rose at home in the Scottish Cup. Anything but a heavy defeat would be remarkable and damage limitation is surely the focus here.

The Hoops won this competition last season and manager Ange Postecoglou will be keen to win it back-to-back. Celtic were able to gain ground, two points to be exact, on leaders Rangers during the week and their new Japanese duo, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda are already looking like absolute gems. Despite that, it remains to be seen whether they’ll be risked on Alloa’s artificial surface.

Celtic to cover the handicap
