Monaco to overpower their hosts

Monaco may be out of form with two wins in their last five league games, but they are still the best bet away at Angers on Saturday.

They are fourth in Ligue 1, nine places and 17 points above Angers. The hosts are 13th with seven wins and 12 defeats, while Monaco have won 13 of their 25 games this season.

Angers’ 2-0 defeat away to Brest last weekend was their second consecutive Ligue 1 loss. Angers were priced at 7/2 to win the game and are unlikely to upset the odds against worthy odds-on favourites Monaco.

Angers have been disappointing defensively at home this season, conceding 25 goals in 12 Ligue 1 games – an average of over two goals per game. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last nine matches.

Monaco will be confident of scoring, having scored three or more goals in eight of their 25 games this season. They have also averaged over two goals a game in their 15 Ligue 1 matches against bottom-half teams.

Angers have been struggling at home lately. They have lost their last two Ligue 1 games on home soil and it is now three matches since they tasted victory in front of their own fans.

There have been three goals or more in 17 of Monaco’s 25 Ligue 1 matches this season, and the 2-1 away win for Monaco looks a decent correct-score bet.
