      Armenia vs Georgia Predictions

      • Armenia have conceded three in their last five.
      • Kvratskhelia has 17 goals in 40 appearances for Georgia
      • Georgia are ranked 32 places above Armenia

Georgia Favoured as Kvaratskhelia ready to shine.

Armenia face Georgia in the first of two legs in this League B/C playoff. Both teams finished their most recent Nations League campaigns with seven points from six matches. However, while that was enough for Armenia to secure second place in their League C group, Georgia’s seven points saw them finish third in their League B group.

Georgia come into this fixture from a tougher league, having faced Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Albania—all considered fringe European teams with regular appearances in major tournaments. They performed admirably, picking up at least a point against each of them.

This follows a strong Euro 2024 campaign, where Georgia stunned Portugal with a 2-0 victory in the group stage, securing a place in the knockout rounds. Their run ultimately ended with a 4-1 defeat to eventual champions Spain, but their performances earned widespread praise.

A key factor in Georgia’s success has been their attack, led by PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The winger, regarded as one of the world’s best forwards, recently completed an €80 million move from Napoli and has made an impressive start to life in Paris. More established nations than Armenia have struggled to contain him, with the Georgian scoring 17 goals in 40 appearances and he will be central to Georgia’s chances.

Defensively, Armenia have shown vulnerabilities, conceding two goals in three of their last five matches. Given Georgia’s attacking firepower, they should have enough to come away with a comfortable 2-0 victory.
