Arminia Bielefeld vs Osnabruck Predictions
- Arminia Bielefeld have won all four of their home league games this calendar year to nil – the last two of which finished 1-0
- Osnabruck are without a win in eight and have won just two of their 12 matches on the road
- Five of Arminia’s last seven games have featured three or fewer goals
Arminia can live up to their status
Arminia Bielefeld hold a six-point advantage at the top of the Bundesliga 2 table and the title favourites should have few concerns against an out-of-sorts Osnabruck.
The Blues have lost only two of their 25 league games and were in imperious form prior to the lockdown, taking 17 points from a possible 21 across their last seven fixtures.
The striking partnership of Fabian Klos and Andreas Voglsammer, who have struck 26 of their 50 league goals combined, has been pivotal to their success and that firepower may prove the difference against Osnabruck, who are winless in eight and were thumped 6-2 at home to third-bottom Wehen Wiesbaden when last in action.
Osnabruck look out of their depth
Osnabruck’s form has tailed off dramatically as the season has progressed and just two wins in 12 away league games suggest the luckless run could continue at league leaders Arminia.
That road record is particularly concerning when you consider Osnabruck have faced only one of the division’s top five away from home this season, which resulted in a 3-1 defeat at Heidenheim.
Well-organised hosts unlikely to run riot
Arminia Bielefeld have won all four of their home league games this calendar year to nil and can deliver another determined defensive display against the visitors.
Uwe Neuhaus’ men have conceded only 24 goals in 25 games – an average of 0.96 per match – and being in pole position to be promoted as champions should ensure they are fully-wound up for their return.
It was a 1-0 win in favour of the table-toppers when these sides did battle in October and with both teams having scored in only one of their previous six head-to-heads, another low-scoring contest looks likely.
Five of Arminia’s last seven games have featured three or fewer goals, with their final two home games before the break resulting in 1-0 wins over Hannover and Wehen Wiesbaden.
