Arsenal and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is set to shuffle the pack and a potentially inexperienced backline could be troubled by a Bolton attack that has a strong record of scoring on the road recently

Arsenal 4-1

Reason for tip

While Wanderers have the ability to threaten in the final third, Premier League class should tell in the end with the Gunners comfortably easing their way through to the next round

Arsenal vs Bolton Predictions

  • Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 12 matches
  • The Gunners have lost just one of their last 14 games at the Emirates
  • Bolton have scored at least twice in six of their last seven away games

Bolton can make presence felt

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is set to have bigger fish to fry than this season’s Carabao Cup, but his team should be expected to ease their way through to the fourth round at Bolton’s expense on Wednesday.

The Gunners were involved in a stirring 2-2 draw with Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday and some of his regulars would probably appreciate a midweek off, having drawn at Atalanta in the Champions League the previous week.

A potentially inexperienced Arsenal defence will give Bolton hope that they can make their mark and they have been in good form in the final third in recent away games.

Class should tell in the end

It has been an inconsistent start for the Trotters after they were chalked up as one of the favourites for glory in League One this season.

But a 2-0 defeat at Charlton has been the only occasion when they have failed to score at least twice in their last seven games on the road.

While Arsenal have lost three of their last four games in this competition, they have not suffered a defeat to a team from a lower division in the Carabao Cup since 2015, and they can dominate in the end, so taking a punt on a 4-1 home win is advised to those looking for a correct-score selection.
